I read thru a bunch of these but can't quite see a match. This forum has saved me many a time & hopefully once again. All working fine, moved it & then went to move it again & nothing. Ok, maybe thought left door open & battery drained so hooked up charger & charged battery good. Nope, nothing when turn key in ignition. Nothing! Now few days later time for troubleshooting. Got in, inserted key & got the chime. Ok...progress! But as soon as tried to start all went dead.

Pulled & looked at the 50A fuse under hood & it looks good. Pulled the relay & inserted a new one...no change. I did pull hot off battery & disconnected a dongle for brake controller (which had added back few weeks ago but had pulled the fuse & no juice was going to the controller. Disconnected all just to eliminate possibilities & possible drain). I did get one more try with a ding (so something temporarily reset????) but since then it is totally nothing! No lights, windows...nothing. I can here the ?pins? as try turn the key but nothing happens. (no chip in my keys). Removed both terminal connectors which are clean. Battery 12.4v. Re-connected everything. Tried again. Nothing!

Any clues? Could it be loose ignition wire? I did notice some strange very quiet sound from column a few times previous...either like a spring or small shorting. But no previous starting issues.

Electrical is not my strong thing nor my mechanics. Any pointers, easy to understand helpful tips as the thing isn't going anywhere. Fortunately do have one working vehicle (at least for the moment). These vehicles are getting old & a bit cranky. Pretty sure its electrical but where?

Thanks in advance for assistance even if just pointing me to helpful posts.

Need a multi meter to see where you have voltage. We can help you with what you need to probe.

I have multimeter. Certainly need to know where to probe! thanks!

The fact that most circuits you noticed seem to have no power, I'd check your main battery cables, positive and negative for excessive resistance, a bad connection. The ignition chime draws less power than a window motor. On the + side, pull it off the terminal and set the meter to ohms, one probe there and the other at the fuse panel connection. If that is good, check the grounds next.

While I don't think this is the cause of your problem I'll mention that a battery with 12.4 V is only 50% charge state.

Sounds like my turn key to on, everything normal, turn to start, everything dead issue I had. Ended up being corrosion between the positive battery cable wire and the terminal itself. Replaced terminal with brass unit, and never had the problem again.

Thanks all. We found the issue (hopefully total issue). The simple fix. Mechanic could hear what sounded like short at battery. Cleaned ground wires (done not long ago), reconnect connector & install back on post. It started right up!

Now need solve the 97 issues. Going thru the possibilities think its fuel pump. Likely at 136k. will be asking about that!
