Mine was screwed vertically to the passenger side of the center console. Antenna was on the roof basket, coax ran through the rear hatch weatherstripping.
BTW, about a month ago someone had made and was selling brackets to mount the antenna that sat on the q screws that hold the tail light in...i think they were $25.
On my 99 i screwd it to the bottom of the ash tray. In between the cig lighter and the glove box under the dash. For the antenna...just a roof mag mount with the coax ru nthrough the weatherstripping on the door
Digger's radio is the cobra 75 WXST or something another. It has a remote mounted box where the antenna and power leads hook up. You hide this box where you want to and the display is in the mic. its pretty cool but they cost more than I was willing to pay. Mine is the cobra 18 WX ST II and its pretty nice. scanner, weather channels, front firing speaker... $73 to my door online
Mine is located here. Because I need to be able to remove / reinstall it for camping. They freak out here if you have a CB they think your trying to catch them at something...
I was thinking of mounting it where the Air controls are once I install my Expedition Overhead console, my Air Switches are going up top and that leaves me with a open spot down below.
