Your Favorite All Weather Tires!!

OK, here it is- I'd like everyone to post their favorite (from actual experience) tires, and give your reason why.

I have a 1998 Eddie Bauer, 2WD that gets driven on the highway quite a bit. I use 265/70/R16 size for personal reasons. For the last 4 years we've had the same set of Michelins on it, and they are close to done. I think she put about 55k miles on them. I made a choice of the GoodYear Fortera triple treads, but if you guys have any better suggestions let me know before I fork out all my money.

My main concerns / wanted features: no noise- smooth ride.

We are in florida now, but in 2 years will be in Colorado, and we make trips into some snow areas occasionally.

Michelin LTX a/t, I have BFG a/ts now and they are better in the snow, but the ltx was worlds better in rain, ice, sand, and they lasted 75k rough miles.

Ok, I'll mark one vote for BFG's. What model, how many miles, and are you 2wd, are they quiet, are they stiff or mushy, any other info?

Ok guys, this seems to be a hot topic for now, we're staying at the top of the list anyways. I see a pattern starting between experiences with BFG and Michelin. I have the michelin L/T (I think- too lazy to run down 3 flights of stairs to find out) with 500 tread wear. The Good Year triple tread Fortera has had my interest for a year now. Now that the price is affordable for me and we need tires, I was hoping for some experiences with it. Thanks for everyones input so far, it helps a lot. It's showing I had a good tire for the last 4 years.

i've got bfg a/t's and they are great. they're not too soft, and hold up nicely even in aggressive turns. I think that tenikiwon has a/t's with like 75 or 80,000 miles on them. he's run them to death. I vote bfg a/t's for sure.

i love my bfg a/t's...i have about 30k on them and they still have easily 40% tread left...they are a little on the noisy side, as they are a more aggressive design than any of the others listed, but they really preform well in all weather conditions...20+ inches of snow no problem.......

BFG A/T's are awesome tires, I love mine. However, if you want all weather tires and a quiet tire, I wouldn't get em. They are quiet tires for an A/T, but they are not quiet compared to a passenger tire. They look great and are more on the aggressive side of an A/T.

Michelin's Cross Terrains ... excellent tire for a pretty decent price. I got them at NTB, but had them price match it with Walmarts (145 vs 128 per tire). Have no regrets ... extremely quiet

If I recall right the tires you might purchase had some reviews at www.tirerack.com that blamed the tire for decreased mpg ... just something to think about.

I like the Michelin Hydroedge. They are very smooth, and quiet on most roads with very good traction. Even after the couple of years, they still look, and feel like new. Here's my 2 cents. Most 'all weather' tires are not truly an all season tire if you consider snow & ice as part of the weather in one of the seasons. Now if you're one of those Florida and California 'all weather' than your fine, but for some of us that actually get ALL 4 seasons, we do have to consider effective snow tires. If you are going to be in florida for a few years why buy a triple thread?
Friends of mine had them and their mileage was not so good.
Some or most triple threads are marked as "winter tires".
Then again if your going to encounter some swow then go for it. But plan on buying another set in two years in Colorado.

I had Toyo Open Country M410's on the truck when I got it, and liked them a lot for all around driving. They were actually a little better than the Toyo A/T's I have now, but I wanted a more aggressive tire.

Uniroyal liberator A/T. awsome tire. i get around great in the rain, snow, and in dry weather, they grab well and are quiet! Ive never gotten stuck with these!

I like my Bridegestone DUELERS A/T, but if you think your going to encounter some rough winter driving, you might want to look into some thin studded tires. (ya they look ugly, but better than getting stuck)
My 2WD ranger wouldn't go anywhere here in CT in the snow without studded tires.....

I agree. Get two sets of wheels and mount winters on one and summers on the other.

My set:

Winter:Pirelli Ice and Snow 235/70/15

Summer:Goodyear Fortera Silent Armor 235/70/15 Super quiet tires with great traction; dry and wet. This might be a good all around tire for you too!
