will a later model t-stat housing fit my 01?

I ran across a thread asking this same question, it received no answer. It looks like it will, and will be a reliability upgrade. Can anyone confirm this?

For your '01 ST? The Motorcraft RH144 is the only OEM replacement I've seen.

There's been "talk" of a 4.0 SOHC metal replacement but I've yet to see one. GL

BTW: Rockauto has the t-stat housing for about $50 for everything. (all parts sold separate unlike Ford)
