My primary parking brake cable broke. Looks like it was in really good condition, but one end broke off. Easy replacement, except for one problem: all the parts stores (including the dealer) has a cable that is 46-47" long. Mine is 49". The cables they're selling is definitely over an inch too short to work on my vehicle.

Have any of you had this problem? I'm stumped on this one and I REALLY need a parking brake for where I live.

Is your an early '02? Perhaps the cable for an 01 would fit... check one at the store

May be the problem. Not sure. I ended up ordering one through the dealer. It looked identical to the other ones but an inch or so longer.
