LOL, I think I have the same on the Navajo I've been trying to figure out. Only I can't remove it because the access from the outside of the frame was welded over with the shock tower tubing.
I want to say it has something to do with the ABS. Is there brake lines running through yours? Or maybe there was and they bypassed them when they did the SAS?
Yeah, I found something like this in my '94, no wires, hoses or lines of any kind. I concluded it must be an RF-ID tag, possibly for use in assembly? I removed it out of some compulsive habit, nothing stopped working.
It is part of the ABS. I think its the wheel sensor thingie. Mine is still there because my shock tower is blocking 2 of the 3 bolts. My 1994 electrical manual named it, but I am too lazy to look it up right now.
Edit; I remember now, its a inertia sensor for the ABS.
