I had a 2013 Explorer and totaled it. Bought a new 2019 XLT base model and added a hitch and remote start. I love it. The day I picked it up I hit a deer on the way home. A month later I finally get to enjoy it.

Welcome to this forum! Did the dealer's body shop fix it or a privately owned shop? Post some pictures when you have time.

A local shop did the work and I don't really consider it bad luck. I have had no accidents and no deer in my 50 years of living. I feel I have now statistically saved myself from future concerns. Additionally, the only injuries when I totalled the 2013 were a busted knuckle, my wife bruised her sternum and our two min pins were unharmed. I feel luck was good. When I hit the deer I felt more for the deer than the vehicle. If anything I feel the deer had the bad luck.
