Just replaced the sunroof motor and switches on my 2010 Mountaineer and need the exact procedure to initialize the motor. I've tried a few procedures for other Years but without success. As it is the sunroof only tilts and will not slide at all. I have the "TILT" and "SLIDE" switches. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

from my old manual:
NOTE: A new roof opening panel motor will only vent and must be initialized.
NOTE: The roof opening panel motor must be initialized when repairs are carried out on any part of the roof opening panel system, including: whenever the roof opening panel motor has been removed from the roof opening panel system, the roof opening panel glass has been removed from the roof opening panel system, the roof opening panel assembly has been removed from the vehicle, a new roof opening panel motor has been installed, a new roof opening panel glass has been installed or a new roof opening panel assembly has been installed.
Turn the ignition to the RUN position. For a new roof opening panel motor, skip to Step 3.
For an existing roof opening panel motor, pull and hold the SLIDE switch until the roof opening panel glass moves to the full VENT position. Release the SLIDE switch.
For a new roof opening panel motor, pull and hold the SLIDE switch until the roof opening panel glass moves past full VENT and suddenly back to full VENT.
For an existing motor, pull and hold the SLIDE switch (for approximately 10 seconds) until the roof opening panel glass moves past full VENT and suddenly back to full VENT.
Quickly release the SLIDE switch and re-pull and hold the SLIDE switch while the roof opening panel glass moves to full OPEN and back to CLOSED (movement will start approximately 3 seconds after the switch is pulled).
Release the SLIDE switch and verify successful initialization by carrying out one-touch open, one-touch close and one-touch vent operations.

I did this last year, 2009 and 2010 are the same.
