2017 Ford Explorer XLT sunroof reset

Sunshade works, sunroof won’t open. I checked fuse and motor can be verified by completing the following procedures

Right door open, turn car on, turn car off, turn car back on, immediately press tilt for 1 second, release, press and hold tilt for it to cycle through entire motion, release.

Sunroof appears to initialize itself and works as intended so assembly switch and motor can all be assumed to be good. Am I missing something?

Welcome to the Forum.
I know that both the shade and the moonroof have their own motors. What I don't know is if the one for the glass itself is a 2 stage motor. One for partial retraction (tilt) and one for full or partial opening. When you hold the tilt as described, does the moonroof partially retract?
