Engine dies when I apply brake

I have a 2001 Explorer Trac (standard)that dies when I go to slow down for a turn or stop at a stop sign. It idles fine when you start, but then drive down the road and it just shuts off. Any suggestions?

Possibly could be your idle control arm. Should be mounted on top of the motor under the plastic cover. Take it off and clean all the black carbon out with some cleaner.

Check for vacuum leak.
