Can somebody give me a couple ideas about where i should mount a sub, should i get a box or mount it in the back of Explorer just out in the open PLZ give any tips or pointers... thnx

You need some kind of enclosure for a sub, the easy way is to get a pre made box, find some subs and amp that you like. Most people have the subs facing the rear hatch so they sound waves bounce off the hatch and move forward. The other common option is to get one of the boxes that fit into the rear cargo pocket area and fit a 10" woofer.

For ideas on what to do look at sounddomain.com under explorers and see what others are doing.

facing back is probably the best , because the low notes bounce off the rear hatch then up to the front, like carman said, the longer the LOW sound wave is able to travel the lower notes your able to hit

or somethign like that
