has anyone other than me noticed a ticking sound coming from the center console when the heat is on and the fan is on low. it will stop if heat is on hot all the way or in the mid heat range but when about 3/4 of the way on heat with fan low i get a pulsing or ticking from the front of the console close to the firewall. had it checked and they said it wasnt the blend valve motor, ideas anyone??....oh yeah, its a 2002 explorer
thanks

i get a ticking noise in my 02 xlt when the fan is at #2 only
low and high i dont hear anything but when on #2 it ticks at a slow
steady beat-annoying as hell- so i dont use 2 anymore
i dont have a clue what it is

the same thing is goin on in my moms 97.. i tried the old "punch the hell out of the dash" trick and it didnt help, i think somethings stuck in the blower fan

let me know what you find out about this. I had this same ticking for a while then all the sudden no more heat.

i think its one of the blend doors but i'm too lazy to look...

mine made the noise for a while and then it just took a dump on me it no longer works on hot. it will blow out cold air all day long but as soon as I turn it over to hot it starts ticking and still blows cold air
