Transmission Swap, 94 XLT

So, here's the dillemma. Have a 94 Ex. 4WD, auto, and electric shift t-case. I am interested of swapping to a manual trans and t-case. I have in my yard a 94 Ranger with 3.0, manual trans, and manual t-case. How easy is it to swap in these componentsto my explorer? Any differences between the Ranger and Explorer components. Has anyone out there done this swap before? Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

The 3.0 m5od will not bolt up to the 4.0, but a 2.9 m5od will bolt up and has a lower 1st gear ratio.
