what you should do is buy two lunchbox lockers for the time being upgrade the front shafts, use them for a short time and then sell them dirt cheap to me when you get the ARBs ;)

We still on for Monday right?

Supergildo - How bout I get the lunchbox locker in here, upgrade the shafts, and finishing rebuilding this axle then sell it to you for next to nothing. Then, you build a Ford 9"/Dana 60 hybrid axle w/ 9" center section, HP third member, Dana 60 outers, etc and sell it to me for next to nothing? By the time you start your swap, I'll be ready for bigger tires and coil overs so we can both get what we want. :p

Breel - Yep, see you at 3 @ the HD.

Ok, well plans have changed yet again with my new tires. I was gonna pick up those TSL Radials for 200ish w/ 1/2 tread, but it turns out, a guy on SouthernJeeps.org has a set of almost new (24/32 when they come new with only 27/32) Maxxis Creepy Crawlers for 400 bucks! So obviously, I'd be an idiot not to jump on this deal considering normall ONE tire is about 300ish (regular price). So it looks like I'm back to my first tire choice at the beginning of this thread. :D

Hell ya. Definately post up on how those tire handle on the rocks, i've had my eye on them since they came out.

What size are they!?

37x12.50r16

Hey Bryan thanks for the barstools. Seems the modulator on the trans took a dump in the yard sometime in the past couple of days and lost all the fluid. Not sure how that happened but it's now sitting in the carport. Guess I'll go ahead and rip the front out and start the swap...hope you put those plans to good use.

tires look good bryan. when you gettin em i might want those 36"s

IMHO, Creepy Crawlers r rock tires.. they will probably get plugged up once it sees mud. You got em for a great price tho so at $400, i probably wouldve jumped on em too ;) hehe

Well, there were rigs at Tellico with these and the BFG Krawlers. They both seemed to clean out fairly well and that's the kind of terrain I plan to be wheeling in. They should clean out fine with a nice foot full of throttle. :D You can't beat that price though. If for some crazy ass reason I didn't want them anymore, JB would buy them from me then, if he doesn't have a set of tires by then.

you know what bugs me about them? Only one person responded to his FS post and that was you. That's a pretty good deal on used tires even though they do look to have some chewed up spots. I'm wondering why nobody else responded in his thread. Maybe they used PMs only. Either way, I'd take a look at them in person before handing over the money. That's a good price to not have gotten any attention from anyone. Did he say why he is getting rid of them?
I'm heading down that way in a week and could maybe stop by and take a look if yall haven't made the deal official yet.

I hope they are in great shape though.. and you get them.. and decide you don't want them.. then I'll get them.

He said that he was wanting to go bigger so they were no use to him. I was wondering the same thing, why wasn't anyone else posting? I think I'm gonna be trying to get them next weekend or so, but if you go that way before me, that would me awesome if you could check them out. LMK

they look a little bit chewed up on the shoulders. I would really be cautious with that purchase as well. if its too good to be true, it usually is...

That picture of the quarter is the back side of the tread... that's why it is so sharp and clean looking. You can see the chewed up shoulders in the one behind it really well. It's just a matter of if it's too chewed up to matter! Those guys hit some pretty nasty terrain down there so I can see that happening pretty quick.

If I can stop by on the way down when I head that way next week I will. I'm not sure I am even going right now so we'll see.

He just sent me some more pictures and they really don't look that bad at all. DEFINITELY nothing that would make me think twice about buying almost new tires for 400 bucks for some 1200 dollar tires. ;)

have him take pictures of the beads, insides of the tires and what not...

Well, I'm picking them up on 12/18/05, assuming that date works with him. :D

then you're going to give them to me right?

If he has another set of Creepys (or Krawlers, etc) for 400 bucks, I'll be glad to get you those and pay you those instead of the $$ for the SAS. ;)

Finally found some time to rebuild the d44. Started with the ball joints and u-joints. I'm doing the ball joints at school so I don't have to buy/rent anything.

BTW, since this was my first time removing u-joints, I used this site which helped out a lot: http://www.4x4wire.com/tech/axle/ujoint/

Spent a lot of time today getting the rest of the D44 parts cleaned up. Got lots painted today and I'm painting the JBG coil buckets, the new R/A's, and a few other things tomorrow. Got the ball joints out today at school and brought home the knuckles so that I could clean them up and paint them. I'll be putting in the new ball joints sometime between now and Monday.
