BMXking's Truck

Got the box finished for the most part. I painted it grey, used two u-bolts and some wing nuts to hold down the Hi-Lift on top, used a "cotterless hitch pin" for the base of the hi-lift for ease in the removal of that piece, put on the hinges, and put on handles. IMO, it turned out great, even better than I had expected. I still plan on putting some type of rubber mat in the bottom of the drawers, so stuff can't slide around as easily. Also, I still need to bolt the box down in the truck. Other than that, it's all done. The last pic is of the tow hooks that I am installing tomorrow probably.

Here's a pic of the extremely corroded R/A bushings :D Tomorrow I'm buying my new Makita angle grinder and might even start replacing some of these rivets with bolts. The next pic is the diamond clear corners I bought from Beau. Those will probably get installed in a couple of days as well.

bmxking, how did the 2 inch skyjacker lift work out for you? Looks good on your sport.

I just bought one and I was wonderin what the actual diameter turned out to be on those Dunlop Mud Rovers, I want to get the Kumho M/T's after I install it but the actual diameter on the 31"s comes to about 30.3-30.5, and I dont want them to look too small.

Most normal M/T's and A/T's will measure out to be a little smaller in overall diamter than as advertised. Pretty much the only true sized tires are Super Swampers. You would probably be fine with 31's or 32's, but the 31's will be a little easier on your drivetrain than the 32's.

The 2" Skyjacker works great, it's just too small for me. :D Not sure what my Mud Rovers actually measured to. ^^What j602 said.

Finally, here's some pics of the new Energy Suspension radius arm bushings. Also, I got some Moog sway bar bushings from a fellow member on the site for CHEAP, so I just installed those. The difference in the handling is amazing!

O and BTW, I'll get a pic pretty soon, of the new sketch I made for my new interior. After Christmas, my interior is being redone completely. I'm getting some Hunsaker seats (Hunsaker Seats) and putting the stock front buckets into the rear. I'll probably throw in a 4 or 5 point harness as well. On top of all of that, the truck is getting a fully custom center console. I'm really good buddies with a guy who does some awesome fiberglass work and he's hooking my up with audio, screens, etc. The center console is going to go from the back of the trans. shifter (where the stock one starts) and go all the way back to the back of the cargo box.
Starting from front to back:
-CB
-ARB/lights switches
-Cup Holders
-Lid (open up and it's the same size storage as stock, and below it there will be a DVD player)
-~10" DVD screen
-Cup Holders for rear
-2 10" or 12" Kicker L7 subs

In the very near future, I'm pulling out the cargo box again and repainting it all black, handles and all. I wanted this color to somewhat match the interior, but it doesn't and it also shows all the greasy/dirty SAS parts I keep throwing in there. :D

The gauges and dash will all be redone once I do the V8 swap. Let me know what you guys think and I'll try to get those sketches up ASAP. :)

EDIT: I just reread about the Hunsaker seats and saw that those have carbon fiber on them. Since I will NOT have any carbon fiber in my truck, I'm getting the Hunsaker "synkro" seats instead. They'll match my neoprene seat covers that are staying on the stock buckets when I move them back, and they look awesome. http://www.hunsakersports.com/shop/item.asp?itemid=194

Finally installed my new Maglite mount and the camo Maglite. :D I repainted the cargo box (here's a pic with the drawers out of it) and I think it looks much better than before. Also, here's the diamond clear corners installed on the truck.

Looking good.

The maglite is pimp! Corners look good, but now you really need some diamond turns.

Thanks Foxx88 & Josh. I think the 3 bucks extra was worth it for the camo over the black one. I just hope I never drop it in the woods. ;) Yes I do. But for some reason I think 37s are mroe important! :D I got an awesome deal on these and sold the regular clear corners, as well as the stockers, so I had to put these in. I want to buy the diamond turns and headlights around Xmas time tho.

Screw 37's. More bling. :D

How much was the maglite?

HAHA The Maglite was like 22 bucks compared to 19 for the black one at Bass Pro Shops. (I may have found them cheaper, but it was 10:30 at night and I didn't feel like going looking around to save 1 dollar.

Well, I'm currently designing front and rear bumpers on top of the whole SAS. A buddy of mine is a pretty good welder and in return for me installing a new rear axle under his POS Saturn (which he's about to sell for a Heep) he said he'd build me my bumpers if I get him the steel. They'll be pretty similar to Fakrwee's bumpers w/ a winch mount on the front, a hitch in the rear, some extra things I'm adding that I can get from work (some trailer reverse lights, d-rings, etc.) and it'll have some nice departure and approach angles. I'm also having him cap off my sliders. :)

Damn dude, those those clear corners and maglite is tizite. Where you get those mofos from? :p

I bought the diamond clear side markers from some a-hole on this site. :D Dang, I really need to get some diamond clear corners (lower)...my normal clears are looking really yellow!

Well, I just purchased a set of (2) diamond side markers, (2) diamond turn signals, and (2) diamond headlights off ebay for 130 shipped. I plan on eventually doing an HID conversion in them. I got a set of Husky liners for the front through work. Also, I'm about to order a black billet grille from work...should look pretty tight with everything else being black.

Next week I'll be ordering my steel to start my front bumper!!!! (hint hint, winch mount, d-rings, light mounts, stinger...)

hey with your disconnect for the sway bar on top of the link like that arent you worried the sogleg (link) will get all jambed up when the beam cycles and the steering tie rods move around?

I put my disco's on the beam side of the link, so when I disco I tie the dog leg up with the bar.

I was worried about it at first, but after several wheeling trips where I've gotten it fully flexed out, I haven't had any problems with it. In less than a month, I won't have to worry about disconnecting anything except for a radius arm. ;)

Copy that.
