Stereo Stolen

Well, as most people know. I have a pretty big stereo.....Or had. My truck has been in the body shop getting shaved and repainted pearl white, and shaved. Someone decided to park my truck outside for the night and not arm the 1,300.00 dollar viper alarm system that is on the truck and it got broken into. The body shop is going to have their insurance pay for every thing in the truck. They got my passport 8500x50, SWX 1 farad digital capacitor, and my three MTX audio 801d amplifiers, and my six MTX 5500 dvc 12's. And my Pioneer cd player. They got into the truck from the rear of the truck through the rear hatch window on the passenger side. Insurance pays for everything so I am ok with it. Plus I am in Thailand right now anyway. I will not be home anytime soon to see it. I just thought you guys might like to hear what is going on. Any way here is some pics of what used to be there.

Well, actually that is the purpose of this thread. My total to build with is around 3,000.00 dollars. What should I get? 3,400.00 If I do away with the radar detector.

No idea what you should buy, however I would be wary (sp) about that body shop seems to me they neglected to store your vehicle properly or it was an inside job.

Alpine speakers. I love them. It constantly amazes me. I couldn't be happier with my 12" type R. The Eclipse HUs are supposed to be really nice too. I've been thinking about putting in a double DIN Pioneer or Kenwood HU.

DO NOT run the new Eclipse Line... I am a huge supporter of Eclipse decks, However they messed up bad on the 06 lineup, warranties have been slashed and with the purpose of decreasing price, reliability has seen a noticeable drop. I would personally run an 06 Alpine or an 05 eclipse if i had the choice. I would prolly switch to the New JL Audio W3's or the New Kicker CVX's for the drivers. Sorry about ur x man, i just had somebody kick in the rear passenger door of my X, why cant people just leave other peoples stuff alone...

im with TTG on that one. usually when you have a car in ur shop with stuff worth that much money teh shop makes sure to keep it inside and locked so they arent out 3500 bucks......at least i know we put the nicer aircraft inside at work because of that........

first id like to ask which viper alarm do u have cus i got a top of the line one and mine was $750.

and second i would go all jl audio bro... im a big jl fan and 2 jl w7s and 2 1000 watt jl amps will probably be as nice if not better than wut u were blastin

Or someone inside with a nice new stereo or some extra cash. I remember hearing about something similar to this happening a while back. The guy who stole it ended up putting it up on eBay. The guy who had it stolen had been suspicious and saw it when it got put up on eBay. He then bought it(I think) and used the guy's information to get him arrested for the theft. Course that could just be an urban legend, I don't really remember.

I had the same thing happen to me a couple days ago. The got in through the rear window by breaking the latch on the glass therefore opening the window without actually opening it as far as the alarm would know.Has anyone figured out a way to prevent this? I had a temp fix of two rounded nuts that would make the intruder break the actually glass (which makes noise) next time they try to steal my stereo again. Help is appreciated.

The alarm is a Viper 791xv with some extras. I am thinking of purchasing three kicker L7's and memphis audio 1000D PRD amps and a kinetik power hc 800 capacitor. from a local shop.

First off the L7 either takes a very tiny sealed box, or a very large ported box. anything else and they will perform horribly, but if u get em the airspace they want... Secondly i would avise against buying a new cap. All the electrical energy they store is released in an immediate burst when they are called upon, but after that initial surge they are worthless till they recharge. I would look into spending that money on a bigger alternator or Adding an extra optima battery to the system.

I think I am going to stick with the MTX 9500 12's. I am thinking of buying three 9500 12 inch svc subs and an MTX 92001....Its 3,000 watts rms at one ohm. costs around 1,800.00 dollars. I will get a digital farad capacitor. I have one optima yellow top and my alternator works great. I have had no problems with the cap I had before doing any harm. Actually it was always just about drained and was not big enough. But it did keep my headlights from dimming. I will put the subs in a ported box.

Do you guys think with me moving up in sub woofer quality and power will make up for three missing subs. I mean do you think the three 9500 12's will hit as hard as my six 5500 12's did?

New Subs

I got my check from the insurance company. I have been searching all over for a sledgehammer enclosure for some MTX 9500 12's. Can't find them on the internet anymore. MTX says they are taking their high end subs and amps off of the internet for sale permanently. I don't know why. Well, I need to buy my stuff online......soo....I guess MTX might be out of a paycheck. I have heard alot about Brahma? Good or bad? Also where can I buy x..'s on the internet at? Please help.

If you want the hardest hitting then go with Audiobahn. Some of their subs hit so hard they are illegal in some states.Sorry about your truck but atleast it was covered.
