I had a friend with a set on his trunk. It sounds so good with the open that is if you like the sound of a v8 with just a 2 foot pipe from the headers.

I only have the V6 do you think it will sound bad?

If you curious what your truck would sound like, disconnect the two flange bolts right before your resonator and muffler. It only takes a few minutes. I know the V8 is loud as h*ll.
IMHO, I wouldn't cause the engine does need some backpressure.

^ try it and find out i have head a v6 with a running bored exhaust and it sounded ok but thats just me some ppl like it different But for the money i think it would be a wast 600 buck for it i would go with a cat back for about the same price in not cheaper.

Okay so i have a resonator and a muffler, (I just went out in the garage and looked) whats the difference? I mean wouldn't the muffler and resonator do the same thing?

I had 2 on my '99 V6, and I have one on my '07 V8 Sport Trac. I only use them when racing, though. i keep 'em closed off the line for the torque, and then open them while running for the HP.

The one in your pic is pretty poor quality, though.

I plan on getting a pair from the site Jon linked after I do a couple of other things first. One thought though, I would go with a quieter muffler for everyday driving, there are those times that you really want to be quiet. And if you feel like having it loud just open up the cutouts.

Yea, thats what i was thinking, i come home from work late sometimes, usually late means 2-3am so if i pulled into the garage with a loud exhaust the whole house would wake up. so, i am thinking about cutouts, or just goin with a new catback exhaust and using the Flowmaster 40 series muffler. Its louder but not so loud that it would be annoying. Its not power i am looking for its just a better sound than the stock exhaust.

i have one i never put on its not electric powered it has a cable like on a old choke you used to have on your dash boards. make an offer or if you want i can post a pic up later if their is any interest :)

Went to the muffler shop and the guy said he has had people ask about them in the past but the will not do it because they are illegal for street use. He also gave me a bunch of B.S. about california laws, that i will be looking up later. So i will probably just do the flowmaster catback exhaust. I have ZERO welding skills so doing something like cutting my exhaust with out the help of pros is out of the question.
