I've always liked that one, and have considered getting one made just like it. I think if you go with a tube bumper, or any aftermarket bumper for that matter, it should be in place of your bull bar, not in addition to it.

It's gonna be a trip! I gotta little bit of pre-work to do, but when it's done... it'll be a trip... nothing funky...

that rear bumper looks sweet. i like how you used the oem bumper to fill the gaps. looks REALLY good. almost like a factory option... except everyone knows that ford isnt that cool.

ha! :) thanks! I got a nice idea from a salesman about the area between the rear tire and bumper: It will be something very different.

WOW your on to the front bumper now. Keep up the good work Donner i will be stealing ideas from you. Looking forward to your final photos.

Lol!

I'm "borrowing" ideas from others also - :D:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Well, at this point the bumper and grilles are off... I got the 7 prong harness to run additional lighting from the rear... I hooked up the reverse lights by toggle only - additional pair 55x2. Replacing lights; painting under carriage with high temp paint - shop will paint.

Wow what kind of trailer u got?? I see that u have a 7 prong what are u going to be towing with your rig now?

Not a thing! Got it so I could hook up lights... sorry, I fell asleep - old age :) However, I was thinking about tow hooks, front and back...

Are you adding a 4th brake light below the receiver? It does look like it's the perfect fit.

Yes

additional lighting, and fitting the cb... it's tough so far, finding the right parts is easy - Wal-Mart, Lowes, Autozone, Kragen... life savers ;)

CB and oem antenna

I use a mag mount, but I'm replacing the oem antenna with a stubby for FM (I don't listen to it, but eh)... Is there a reason this area couldn't be used for a cb antenna?

That's not the stubby in that pic; and i'm adding double screws and bolts to hold that cb in place.

Your X is coming along quite nicely. It's one of my favorite 3rd gens on the board.

now it's late...

Thank you very much! CB - The cable will not be seen... tomoro I'll clean up the area. The front bumper will be installed on Monday/Tuesday. Diff company this time... The front and rear undercarriage will be blacked out with high-temp spray. I'm hoping the clearance in front will look right...

I just noticed your side mirrors, are those 4th gen or aviator? Either way, they look good.

I decided to keep the lights basic...Will solder and ground later...
