Well I just took it around and drove it pretty hard for about 3-4 miles and no OD light, so hopefully it doesnt come back!!!

continuing to drive it with a flashing OD light will wear hard on your trans...I would suggest taking to a jasper certified transmission shop, and at least have it scanned. My transmission flashed after going through a swamp, due to a faulty trans temp guage with did not affect the trans, but the computer though it was overheating. If you have a big clunk shifting from 1-2 then it is probably something to do with the valve body

Well since I reset it last night, it hasnt came back on since, did some hard driving eariler, mudding with mud up to my damn doors just a little bit ago lmao, and about 60-70 miles all in all today and no light at all, and very smooth shifting, I think maybe something just got wet or who knows.

Sorry for the bad pics, it was 11 at night, no light besides my 2 million candlepower spotlight lol

About 5 minutes later is when I got up to my doors lol

looks like a lot of fun, but i would make sure you aren't alone when you do that. that's how i blew my transmission up. and that was not fun.

On a side note, how are the HIDs have the worn in yet?

Justin

EDIT: when you clean, make sure you spray under your gray trim, especially in the corners by like the dog leg and the front corner. That's where my rust hit, and from the pictures, i can see the dog leg bending outward, you don't want to get the rust. it's terrible.

Haha I know, thats right behind my house, where I always go, but I didnt realize it was that muddy, because we just went through there yesterday, so I thought it would be fun to take that way back home from work, (You can get back there from the road) and got through the mud no problem, then got right behind my house halfway up the hill and slid right back down lmao.

My friend who had the green explorer sold it for 2200$ and bought this old 82 F150 lowered about 8" with like 35's I think and he JUST got it for 600$ in other words it needs alot of TLC but he threw his plate on it and that thing pulled me right out hahaha.

My HIDs are worn in I think now....or at least theyre alot brighter, and more blue than they originally were.

If you dont mind me askin, how'd you blow your trans?

It was a fun fun fun fun night. let me tell you. Basically don't do the brown wire mod. it's not good for the transfer case. I stripped out my transfer case when i was gonna go wheeling, so i only had 2wheel drive. and when i realized this, i was like, ah, it's not that bad. and kept going, well i went into the sloppiest part of the field, and boy oh boy, i sank straight down, and through trying to rock it out, i stripped something inside the transmission and it only had reverse. So i had to find someone at three in the morning who was up. thank god one of my friends is up durring the night more then anything else (the same friend might i add who was sleeping when i called him at 10pm to hang out...) so he pulled me out with a lot of help from me and the kid i was with pushing. and then i had to drive in reverse back to my friends house, which is like 20 miles, and then after we sprayed my truck down (there was like 2 inches of mud everywhere including the roof....) i had to drive to work which is another like 10-20 miles, in reverse at like 3 or 4 am.

Soooooooooo, moral of the story, don't go 4wheeling if you're 4wd doesn't work, even if you think you're good. and don't go wheeling without someone that can pull you out.

Justin

Well in all this ****ty rain weve had today, me my gf, and her sister were heading across town to Pizza Hut for dinner, it was like 9 so it was dark, and around this pretty sharp curve in the road, 2 cars come along the same time I do with their brights on, so I took it a little sharper, because it completely blinded me, and theres quite a mess of potholes, so I hit them, and totally f'ed my muffler up, the pipe that comes off the cats, where it connects to the muffler snapped apart, and its LOUD as ###### now, so hopefully I can get out early tomorrow morning, jack it up, and reclamp it, or get a coupler for it.

Heres a crappy iPhone pic:

The black box is where that pipe should be

dang that sux brian

Hate to say it but i don't believe you're going to be able to re-clamp that. it broke after the flange piece. So you're going to have to get a connector pipe welded in. I think i would use this as an opportunity to get an aftermarket muffler 2.25 dual in, 2.5 single out. And now i'm sure you have no power at all, at least that's the way it was for my truck. Good luck with it.

Justin

I actually feel like its a little "zippier" lol but im gonna wait til this weekend and tackle it, its horribly loud.

Anywho, another update, I finally got off my ass about my front bumper yesterday after school, and started grinding the old bolts off that hold the valance on, and ive gotten everyone but about 3 which I can get a socket and loosen. Hopefully by next week I have my explorer fully back LOL (whole front bumper, quiet exhaust HAHA)

I also just spend the last hour making a video on windows movie maker with pics, and videos of it from day one, its pretty cool, still uploading though so ill post it soon

http://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/bar/1642724056.html

tired of it already? lol

and I wouldn't exactly call it MINT condition if the exhaust is all banged up, and tranny is potentially going out. Not trolling, just saying. Be up front and honest to potential buyers/traders.

Sellin this one too?! You just put a bunch of work into it.

I love it, and totally wouldnt mind keeping it, but I was curious as to what people might offer for it, and if I could trade it for another 4 door, preferably a V8, id be all for it lol.

Mirge - The trannys fine now, light hasnt came on since, I checked the fluid, and its at perfect level, plus it looks brand friggin new still. It shifts smooth as day, goes into all gears and you cant even tell. Plus im replacing that in/outlet on the catbacks this weekend after payday LOL.

Oh yea, I also recieved my new lower valance for my bumper, which im sanding down because of some god forsaken hidden rust haha

SANY0008-3.jpg

:(

Saying it's "basically MINT" and "nothing wrong AT ALL".... when there's rust, O/D light *was* flashing (I still say get codes read), and exhaust is farked up (keyword is, not fixed yet).... is completely false and unethical, IMO. Would you appreciate buying a vehicle that you were told was MINT, and in fact was *not*? Not trying to be mean, I'm just saying you should be up front and honest with people. :salute:

Yea...and most people like a basic ad without a bunch of explanations, they basically want to know the good and bad. I've found in the past that when I had a long ad I got no response but when I shortened it up got a lot of responses and sold rather quickly, not saying yours would though because if they come to look at it after seeing "Mint" condition and see the exhaust and what not they're going to be skeptical of the whole vehicle. Just be honest about your truck, you could end up being turned in for a misrepresenting a vehicle if someone were to buy this and suddenly have issues.

I feel like a dumbass. Leave it to everyone on EF to knock some sense into my dumbass!

Im keeping it. Idk once in a blue moon I see a REALLY nice newer explorer (99-01) style, FOUR door, and it makes me wanna try to get one.

I hate having 2 doors but I love my rig. Ive been PMing a member about a Flowmaster (I think, or Borla) dual catback setup hes got up for grabs that im hopefully gonna buy when he sends some pics. Then I figure I can slowly start my update process, since weve had the warm weather, im probably gonna head over to the JY this weekend if I can, and see if they have any of the bumpers (front and rear) I want, and grab the newer taillights, and deff. look for a liftgate.

Sorry guys for the HORRID stupidity, forgive me? lol. (I also deleted the ads)

Woo-Hoo!!!!

I went to AutoZone today in hopes to find another cheap cool mod, and I did...I got the same 12" LED flex strips that I used as my dome lights (White ones though), and I got 2 packs of the blue strips, to use as floor lights, or whatever the f you'd call it lol, not with my interior lights, but just for looks at night.

I mounted one under the steering column I guess you'd call it, one under the glovebox, and one under each front seat (in the back for the back seats), wired up a switch next to the wonderful "Kleenex" holder, and wired them into the power for the stock CD changer.

Pics in a few when theyre done uploading :D
