Well, my red neck ingenuity took over last night when I saw some stuff lying on the ground outside my house... #I can make that into a temporary bumper...

So here is what I did. #Keep in mind this is until I get a more permanent bumper built...

Ok, so take one busted treadmill

Cut it into a bunch of pieces..

Bust out the grinder and the MIG

And then you have a Bumpermill... #

So there ya have it. #Not all welded up yet but this is where I'm headed right now. #It really serves not a ton of useful purpose as I don't think it'll take a deer very well but it'll protect my grill a bit and help brush trees off whatever lights I put on the bumper. #

Let me know what y'all think. #To high? #To far from the truck? #Looks stupid? Any advice?

Keep in mind this is not really super functional. I was just gonna do the "FROADER" chop on my bumper but then the treadmill caught my eye. I am currently designing a proper winch bumper in Solidworks but that could be a while. #

Any opnions (other than "you idiot, its a treadmill) are welcome

You idiot! it's a treadmill.......j/k.... .it actually looks really good... way to go! Hope it does withstand more than you expect it to!

Ya, I meausured the tube today. It's 2" x .080 wall. So it's not exactly paper thin. I haven't welded the stinger on yet so I may make it a couple inches shorter just enough that I can barely see it from the cab.

If it's welded solid, it should at least clear the branches... I may stick a couple more pieces on to it to finish it out. We'll see.

It's really stupid for me to be spending my time doing this but I was inspired last night... keeps me from the important things...like an alignment, exhaust, finishing my flares, mud flaps, tow points...the list goes on and on.

I have to build a rear bumper with a tire carrier before I move on to my real front bumper so this will look cool for now.

Anyone have any opinions on the 8" Pro-comp lights? I can get them for around $40/light. I can't really afford super nice lights and they seem to do the trick for pretty cheap. When I get my real bumper built, I plan to move the lights up to the roof rack and add 2 more...
