Hm im not sure, I know they had like 3 different levels, there was none, the mirror stuff, and on occasion the black, until 98 when they were all black

The later '97's have black tint.

My bad lol, I thought the black tint came with the tailgate update, thanks though :D
I wish it wasnt raining id head up to my junkyard and see if they dont have the glass I need

The other day when it was nice out, we were hanging around talking in my gf's driveway, and I had opened the passenger door, and moved the seat up, so I could sit on the backseat's floor, with my feet hanging out, and when I was getting out, I noticed some dirty spots on the side of the console, and a few marks on my seats and finally got home tonight and tackled it. I also pulled the plastic piece right inside each door, not really sure what its called, to paint black, and out of boredom, remembered that my EXPLORER badge on the tailgate was coming off last time I was at the wash.

So I pulled that off, got my straight edge, and scraped all the old corroded sticky stuff off, which clearly didnt hold haha, and I loved the way my tailgate looked without the faded chrome badge, so I figured, "WHY NOT paint it black" :D Im whooped, and going to bed a little early so I can get up early for that X2 contest tomorrow morning, and ill hopefully finish painting tomorrow and get some pics up

So keeping up with Joe Dirt, I had to steal his idea of the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers, got a box of 4 (Target Brand) for 2.44$ and im going out to start scrubbin right now! Ill take plenty of before and after pics

Long story short, these things are amazing! They clean better than the 15$ bottles of liquid whatchamacall it. The final results were astonishing lol. I honest to god thought one pack of these would do my whole interior...WOAH was I wrong, I also thought that my seats werent bad at all, WOAH was I wrong x1,000,000! I used one WHOLE sponge on the BOTTOM of one of the backseats, not even the back yet!

Anywho, I need about 3 more boxes, and then I can finish.

So far ive gotten:
-Bottom of backseats
-Sides of front seats
-Drivers side door panel
-Steering wheel/cruise buttons
-Center console

Those 4 pads were trashed, and thats an understatement!

Just a random number haha, but im just trying to see if anyone offers me a trade for a 4 door. (No one's emailed me so I doubt its gonna happen, but im kinda glad LOL) :p:

Flagged already? Surprising...

Usually I tell kids, (like me) to go ahead and do it, but I have followed your threads and have seen a reoccurring theme, it seems like your never happy with what you got. Just be patient, most kids your age drive toyotas or old escorts and such, you have an suv your lucky, and a ford suv at that. In my mind the explorer was the best suv in the mid 90's, from powertrain to center console, there age has kept up with the times.

but think of it this way, you put about $600+ in your truck (guesstimation). Save your money and keep her, why sell it and buy one when your going to have to do all the things you do to them, which usually involves a stereo system. Keep putting money into her little by little depending on the route your going to go, that will personalize the truck even more. You already know her flaws and her better half....Whats a 4 door going to do for you, if anything suck down more gas due to it's weight...just think conservatively...If you want something v8, your going to have to settle for one that has a lot of miles on it, and that just leads to more repairs.

Your still in highschool, so why not wait till you graduate, if you go to college your likely to find a job stressful unless your a Communications Major...haha...without a job it's going to be harder to do the things your doing to your truck, believe me when i went to college I ended up flat broke just after my first semester, and my truck did not see any maintenance for 5 months...

and $5000? I know my truck isn't worth 5000 dollars and I think she looks pretty good, 5000 would be a stretch for me....once again think conservatively especially in the economic period we have now.

sorry that usually doesn't sound like me, but just think before you act. Maybe im growing up

You made a really good point there, I would hate hate hate to get rid of mine, but I really miss the extra 2 doors, and the SO much more room it had lol, but I pretty much knew anyways that I wasnt gonna get rid of it...we have a special relationship :p: Thanks for that though, it made quite a few good points

I dont wanna get rid of it, just sometimes part of me REALLY beyond words wishes it was a 4 door... 4 door= easier backseat access, no having to fold the front seat to get in back, backseats are a 60/40 split (3 rather than 2), WAY more cargo area in the back...power rear windows...lol the list goes on, but then I think about how much fun ive had with mine, and how much ive done to it, and all that and then I get back on the right track about keeping it LOL.

No worries guys im not getting rid of mine.....promise :D I have way to many things on my list todo.....wait til I get my taxes back :D YYEEEEEHAWW!! Hopefully im gonna either decide by then with that money, to lift her a few inches, or go with its ass sag, and drop the front to even it out, til I get new (DAMNIT the word slipped my mind!) Not spring...not struts, not shocks, the friggin long curved things lmfao! I cannot think of what theyre called to save my life!!

leaf springs... lol

Si

YES! Lmao I couldnt think of the name to save my life for some reason...

I noticed about 3 weeks ago, I have the ass sag problem :( So I figure for now I could TT the front down haha but I have no clue how much to adjust it and whatnot, and I dont wanna have to pay for an alignment (You have to get an alignment after you do a TT right?)

you have single leafs on the back, change to a 4dr rear leaf pack, and that'll solve yr prob!

Got my free HID kit from X2 today, (Won that contest) and got it in....WOW I swear my old bulbs had to have been like 8000k or these are 12000k LOL, theyre so blue, I cant imagine how people with any higher "K" drive at night!

I also picked up another set of LED strips, one white pack, and one blue pack.

The white- under the doors, or somewhere close under the body, wired in with my dome lights to function as "puddle" lights, and the blue set is going behind my grill probaby.

my thoughts are that these are an actual good kit and the kit you have is an ebay special where they use low quality parts(if that's where you got it) and they have a wide variance on the acceptable k ratings. my first kit that i got was 10k and it was almost purple, i got an 8 k kit and they were blue, neither of which great kits, i'm looking into getting kits off of DDM when i get extra cash.
