I looked around and couldn't find this answer. I just coated my taillights on my mounty with the niteshades and I think I got them darker than I wanted. My ? is has anyone ever tried to strip it and try again? I will look at them for a bit and see if I think they need it. But here are some pics, pardon the nasty mounty.

I am more worried about not seeing the reflectors than the light not showing through.

Not as dark as some I'm seen.

FWIW, it's easy to just sand them down and start again. Been there, done that.

I'm a big fan of just one light coat. Then clearcoat them like crazy. The "murdered out" look is horrible, a bit tacky, and not too safe. Yours don't look like that.

Thanks I will take that as they look ok? How about using paint remover? I have some stuff called "citristrip" that is a mild stripper that I think would work. It will have to wait till I get back from GA for training for work. I looked at them tonight with the lights on, they shine through pretty well. I think I will be ok. But I still am as you said a fan of the lighter look so I may strip them and try again. One can would do a ton of lights. Whenever I get them just right I will clear the heck out of them. Thanks for the help though.

I stripped them and tried again. I got them some lighter but not alot. Really light is hard to do. I think this looks better though. BTW thanks Celly for the advice, DON'T DO THE CITRISTRIP! My 3rd brake light is bad off now and I used a bit of that on it to strip it. I wish I hadn't though. I am not sure it will be that noticable up high. Just glad it wasn't my taillights.

What do you think.

IMO I like it. I did two coats and about 10 clear coats on the tail and 5 less coats on the top tail. A year later tails are same as day one and the top tail has faded to almost what it look like before.
