Is the 03 Explorer Steering airbag wired different?

Do anybody know if the 03 steering airbag is wired different than the 02? My 02 Eddie has two wires: one yellow in the center and one red at the top. The 03 airbag has 3 conectors: two in the center and the red at the top. One of the two in the center has the same conector as mine the other is a little different but the same size so it would be hard to plug in the wrong wire. Are the two airbags compatible? What's the other conector in the center for? Maybe a different model vehicle? Anybody? Thanks!!!!!

i don't think it will work, not sure when but Ford introduced a 2-stage air bag. Sensors in the seat or something, determine 'how big' the person is. Small person only one stage will fire, big both. Looks like the '02 it was only a single stage bag.

It might turn off the light but, how well it will work?????? I'd get the right one.
