Very nice indeed. Sometimes we need a vacation just to get things done at home! I'll be interested in if you get any belt slippage as well. Seems like a lot of blower for that engine!
I was wondering about the belt slippage too. I wonder if there is a way to have custom pulleys made with more ribs for all the pulleys under my hood.
Probably $$$$$$.
I've put a lot of thought into an 8 rib set up. I think the hardest and most expensive part will be the harmonic balancer. I think there are companies out there that will make a custom one. Mine is zero balance so that should be even easier.
JD4242 mentioned a place that makes custom pulleys, I will have to go back and find the post to remember the name of the company. I have them bookmarked in internet explorer somewhere if I can find it. lol.
Having something custom made always cost more, but how much more and how much you are willing to pay are what determines if it gets done or not.
I was looking into having an electric water pump made for the 4.0 SOHC, would take around 2000.00 to get one made. I wonder how much the pulleys would cost and if we could use any pulleys off other vehicles like the alternator etc.
Hey asp can make the 8 rib pulley.the alternator and power steering pulleys comes from a f150 lightning and are direct bolt on for me.the idler and water pump will handle a 8 rib couldnt post in your thread, need to update my status
O one more thing.from what ive read its a BIG BIG no no to more the output port on the bottom of the charger, like what you did in the pictures in post 273..couple people were doing that to run the m112 blades inside the m90 case and everyone of them had issues.

Dont quote me but I would look at 03/04 cobra for the power steering pulley, its a similar pump but I cant remember the hub or bolt setup on it, I love mixing and matching factory parts, it appeals to my cheapskate hotrodder side,

Thanks for posting the link JD4242, that's the place. I was looking into them a while back after you mentioned them. I was thinking of getting a bigger diameter to spin the M112 faster. Don't need faster now with the M122, but I may need more ribs. I wont know till I get it done. I am back to work now and already have to work some double shifts. Come on Saturday!
What year Lightning for the pulleys?
I only half understand what you posted about superchargers failing. Chance We take to do custom things I guess. On a Lightning forum someone brought out the idea that the plate that the supercharger mounts to had to be almost perfectly straight, within thousandths of an inch.

I have some other things to workout first before I can even start it to see if the belt slips. Need to make a throttle plate adaptor, new air filter to throttle plate tube, IAC mount, coil mount, EGR tube, route all my vacuum lines, and change my left and right side spark plug wires since the coil will be on the other side now. I probably left something out. lol.

You hit the nail right on the head. I am a cheapskate hotrodder and I love cheap used factory parts that I know will last long. lol.

The alternator and AC clutch pulleys are easy, and from the Super Duty trucks. I have a spare compressor now with the 8-rib pulley in case.
The crank and power steering pulleys will be the toughest. The PS pulley is a great three bolt piece, but not common among aftermarket choices.
ASP is the best choice to see about something special like those.

I have been wondering if the alternator pulley would fit but I don't see why it wouldn't. I've been looking at the 7.3 diesels. Maybe a 6.0 or new would work too.

How about posting a picture of the coil mount here?
The snouts are slightly different between the M122 and M112.
The M112 off the lightning and cobra seem to have the same bolt pattern but the lightning snout is shorter. Could come in handy if you need to Frankenstein one. The M122 has a different bolt pattern.

How much is a metal break?
I measured the alternator shaft on a 2005 excursion with a 6.0L.
It was about 5/8 inch diameter. Did it with a tape measure with the pulley still on so it not the most accurate measurement. I have to work too many hours in the next 2 days but when I get time I will measure one of my alternator shafts to see what size it is.
do you guys have a body shop at work? they should have one. that or some angle lron, vice, block of wood and a hammer. thats a pour mans metal break lol
As big as that place is, no body shop. I think there is one in our Houston campus.
Angle iron I have. Huge piece in my garage. I was wondering what I could use it for. Great Idea!
Had to make an adaptor for the throttle plate. My horrible cutting skills show that I cant cut a straight line. Having no artistic talent handicaps me. Being in a hurry prevents me from hiding it with filing or grinding.
