I have removed the cams and had a valve job done. Now I am ready to install the cams but upon inspection I have only removed part of the lash adjusters. The tops came out easy but the bottoms appear to be secured into the head. Is the a two part adjuster? Do the bottoms need to come out to be cleaned. They seem to spin freely as is. The problem is the tops will not depress and allow the valves to close. I tried to relieve pressure with a paper clip against the ball valve but they all stay at the same height as in the photo. I know at disassembly some were up some were down, what happened. I noticed a torx plug at the end of the lifter galley. Does this have to be opened to relieve pressure? Seems like the tops should go down into the lifter bottoms when you push the ball valve.

was finally able to pull the bottom part of the lifter out. it looks like the top part is not going down into the cup. do they take a little persuasion to get past the sealing washer?

There is a tiny sealing ring at the base of the top piece of the lifter. You must use a thin pick to gently push it in to the bore of the lifter base to get them to collapse. What a pain times 12. Every one was the same.
