Your timing is good, I have been working on the headlights again. Winters in Minnesota are a great time to work on projects. This winter I installed a Holley/Weiand 174 blower with air/water intercooler and have that just about wrapped up. Here are some pics.
I will post more on the headlights as soon as I can. Probably a couple months.
I just got back from my holiday vacation and plan to get to work on the kits ASAP. The nice part about taking a vacation is it gave me some time to think of some easier ways to build the kit and make it even easier to install. It may take a while but I hope to have something ready by Spring.
sorry to necropost, but VERY interested in this, I dont need the adapter, as both of my headlight connectors dry rotted in half, but I am for sure interested in the brackets, on mine I am planning to put in a 7" round HID kit and mount the turn signals in the front bumper.
Edit: also I dropped a link to this in Ford ranger nation and people probably will be interested in this as there are no aftermarket headlights available for this body style and nobody seems to like the headlights on these.
I know it's a long shot to resurrect this thread, but I'd love to see the pictures of the round headlight conversion, they aren't showing up for me. I've been considering designing something myself and trying to get ideas of what others have done. If anyone has those pictures still or maybe that kit became a reality and I can't find it? I'd love to see it.
Thanks Paul, I’m surprised anyone still has the pictures around but that gives me an idea of what he was working on. Too bad it never came to fruition. I plan on eventually giving this a shot though and hopefully can report back here.
IIRC, the OP used ‘70’s era F-150 lights and fabbed some brackets to hold them - - don’t think he was using a 3D printer, but in the time that has passed since then, imagine someone with skills could make a file. . .
Might want to reach out to @410Fortune as he did the round light conversion on his B2 and might share some insight.
Bronco ii too easy it already has traditional square headlight buckets, simply removed them and welded round buckets from a vw beetle to the base. So the round light fits and it’s Completely adjustable like the stock headlights.
The grill just needs a little trimming and I made some simple abs plastic shrouds to hide the ugly a round peg in a square hole leaves. I honestly did not think I would like it… but once they were on there I fell in love with the look. There is no going back now! Huge aftermarket for 7” round headlights thanks to the jeeps and broncos
I also color matched the round trim rings so the round black lights pop against the body color
Everyone loves pics! I should get some better ones
One of my $80 eBay headlight now has a stone chip/‘crack in it. I will be updating to a newer set with turn signals and stuff
There are some sweet headlights avail
For the new bronco shhhhhhhh
Thanks for the replies Paul and 410Fortune. I’ve seen a few of the conversions on the older front ends and really wish I had that style front end/headlights cause it looks super clean, especially yours 410Fortune, nice work! Also it’s nice to see I’m not the only one who bed lined their Bronco ii, looks good.
I’ve got a ‘90 Bronco ii though and am looking at making something that would work to do something similar to the picture Paul shared. If you’re right Paul about OP using different brackets, I’d definitely be interested if there was more in your memory or camera about that. Was it similar to 410Fortune’s work do you think? In one of OPs posts he mentioned he was working on a 3d printed trim piece which I believe is what we see in your picture above and that’s what made me think the entire bracket was 3d printed but I think you’re correct it was probably only the trim.
