figured Is come.over here and start my build thread.
I've had the truck for 2 years now sitting in the garage. Finally got time.and motivation to get it started.
I searched for a long time for this very specific truck.Originally, Originally was a 3.0 auto all power option including mirrors and keyless.entry, factory 6cd changer . The truck had a rod knock and I bought it for $800. Drove 3 hours and picked it up on a uhaul dolly.
I just bought a 2000 mountaineer with 142k miles on it. It ran like a 2020 vehicle! Bought it for $700 and the guy delivered it to my driveway. I pulled the engine and harness and computer sold the truck for $450. Sold the cats for $550. Kept the $800 pioneer DVD CD player and brand new battery. Win win situation!!
So the plan was to do a bone stock 302t5 swap. Got the engine on the engine stand, it set there for about a week. I decided to pull the heads off and look at the cyl's. They looked just like they had been honed. The cross hatches were brand new looking. This is when it took a turn for the ..worse/good..lol
Sent the stock upper and lower intake and tb to be ported, I got a set of track heat Twisted wedge heads, (also sent to be ported)Anderson N412 cam,bbk 76mm maf,30 lb injectors, zspec T5, torque monstwr headers. Will be running 2 1/2 duals with black widow venom 250 mufflers.
It will be an everyday driver with ac.
