Hi I just brought a 2011 Ford Explorer XLT with a airbag light on..not to savvy with a Forscan but gave it a try and it’s saying the code is : B0061. What should I do?

It could be the sensor as mentioned in some of the articles.

I don't know that code, but recommend confirming it isnt one of the connectors under rear bench, as that seems to be most common one. The clip is easy to open and close, and just having seat folded up can change the results. Unclip the wires under seat, blow on them, say a few prayers, vacuum, whatever, then see if issue goes away.

As you can see by this post within this thread, there are some who do more than blow on it.

View attachment 165904 I had the airbag light come on a month ago and stay on. I read this post. Learned a lot. Started with unplugging and plugging in the big black and gray connector under front drivers seat a few times. Lots of dust and debri came out, as I had a bright light shinning on it.
Airbag light went out immeadiately on next start up and has not come back on. I did disconnect battery also before working on it. I did not touch the yellow connector. That would have been next.
Hi ,
I have searched all over internet and cannot find a video that shows how to loose this part. I have the air bah light constantly on and the dashboard says that the passenger side airgag is off. I learend that sometimes by unplugging and plugging back that connector could help, but I cannot see how I can loosen the part. Could you please, take a short video that shows how to do it? I would appreciate that enormously.
Thank you in advance!

Welcome to the Forum.
The passenger side will show OFF unless someone is actually sitting there.

Ok, great clarification. Thank you! What about the light on from the dashboard?

That is likely an issue with the connector. I've never looked for this connector since I never had this issue so I have no idea how they are joined. I don't recall anyone else having issues taking the connectors apart.

This it the connector I need to unplug and plug back to reset the light on my dashboard.

From what I see in the pictures, it looks like it just snaps together and held by that black piece (key?) at the top.

Hello folks-

I have a 2012 Ford Explorer, I've got this code below, I purchased a new seatbelt tensioner and installed/tested it, cleared codes, but this did not fix my issue. Does anyone have any other ideas? Looks like the issue is further upstream. Doing some searching I see that people are saying the connectors can be dirty but I dont see how that could just all of a sudden be the issue.
