So, my lift kit showed up today.

After shredding the boxes open like an ADHD 5-year-old hopped up on caffeine and sugar come Christmas morning, I decided to take an inventory, to make sure that I had everything when I start tearing down my Explorer this weekend.

It looks like everything is there, but there's one minor discrepancy.

The instructions list:

55-21-9636
differential torque bracket driver side \ rear

The part that I have is numbered:

21 9630

Now, most of the stuff in the kit is numbered 9630, and matches the instructions/check sheet. I'd assume that they're the same part, and the instructions are slightly off, but I wanted to double-check.

I'll try to get ahold of Superlift in the morning, but I think you folks here have better customer service than they do. :D

I would assume it's just a typo....the name makes it sound like it's the rear-most drop bracket for the differential, which is a rather large part.

old thread, but reviving this now because
we are installing a ranger superlift onto a 05 sport trac
the sport trac uses a completely different rear support for the front differential, it is about 18" longer then the ranger/explorer bracket
Superlift used to sell the part 9636, they do not any longer
So we will be chop/cut/welding our own

Could I please see the longer torque bracket?

I would love too! This is how I got here searching the web for pic and availability

Cannot find a picture anywhere, just mention of it from old posts here on ef

I will share what we build, basically planning to weld the superlift bit to the factory bit

Have two sport tracs both getting superlift drop bracket kits

Actually, I kinda wanted to see the stock torque mount, as I see the reasoning.

Okay I’ll get pics! The sport trac frame is different I guess so there is no place to mount the normal diff mount

We came up with a simple solution

This picture is a 2001 sport trac frame/front diff
This truck is going to the crusher soon
We are going to cut the metal “tab” off this frame and weld it onto the 05 trac frame in the correct / older style location
Then the superlift bracket we have will just bolt on
