Well I was fighting my radius arm replacement into the weeeee hours of the mornin. Actually I'm still working on it. Here are some photos I shot at 12:10 am.

My radius arm and axle just didn't want to come together so I improvised and came up with a solution.

Here is the difference these two are apart and notice the bends in the swaybar bracket. The added thickness of the RA's was too much for the bracket so it had to be bent.

You can see the bends better in this photo I hope

Oh here are some additional photos I took.......Notice my CB antenna just got it mounted

Yep that a photo at 12:10 am still plenty of light

I've had more caffiene today than I've had in 1 1/2 years I guess I was shaking from it cause the last 2 pics seem blurry.........I guess it could be me

Oh and if I end up working through the night I'll get some more pics!

That way you guys can experience a little of the land of the midnight sun.

Damn Jack! The whole light at midnight thing would be cool.. but obviously is makes it hard to sleep, eh?? :D

I'm tired sore and pissed off.......the bolt for the top of the radius arm that goes under the coil is within 1/16" of an inch of lining up and I can't get the sucker in. My little home made cumalong is so tight I could play music on it, the crank actually broke so it won't tighten anymore. I've tried to start it by cross threading it then pulling it dead center and it just won't go. I've beat on the radius arms with a BFH and a ton of padding to muffle the sound. The mosquitos are eating me alive and to top it off I have to leave for work in 2 hrs and its an hour drive to work. I just need the arm to move a ****s hair towards the right corner, I've been looking at my hi-lift and considering using between the radius arms to push my side out just a bit. But the fear of breaking the other radius arm is stopping me from actually doing it.

Her's more pics taken at 1:15 am and 1:55 am

Tell you the truth that is not how I picture Alaska to be. I figured it to be covered in snow and people drive around in snow mobile along with polar bears. ;)

But that light still at 3am is way cool. You could really wear your sunglasses at night.

Well its nice for things like going 4wheeling, fishing, working on vehicle and midnight golf. For sleeping we use heavy backed curtains to keep the light out.

I tell ya it was nothing like I imagined when I got up here. The summers are beautiful and mild. I came from 100 degree summer temps to this where normal is 70-75 and sunny.

I love alaska... never been there... but i want to move there.. asllways have.. allways will.. i love the winter.. i love the cold and snow.. and i hate hot summers.. i could deal with 70-75 all summer

Jack,

Aftermarket radius arms are a bit*H to fit, plain and simple.

The arms and the beams usually require preperation before fitting together......read: 4" disc grinder

Material should be removed for clearance, mostly on the drivers side beam, around the pumkin pivot bolt.

:)

big pry bar that will fit int he radius arm bolt hole is the key to lining it up, also a pry bar on the radius arm itself, and dont tighten the bottom bolt till you have started the top...

I have found the last few times that assembling the beam to radius arm off the truck , then installing the whole assembly, works GREAT. :)

Good luck!

Great pictures of the midnight sun! Oh, but this was in the suspension forum. D'oh, I have nothing more to add :D

Kurt,
I think 410 hit it right on the head. When I installed mine I bolted the radius arms to the TTB then lifted them to the frame brackets. Remember to use lock-tite on the bolts when reinstalling. That keeps them tight and will be easier to remove the next time believe it or not. I didn't have to grind anything though.

I did not however install my sway bar brackets as you did. I planned on cutting them at the curve and using the exsisting two bolts in the center and welding the ends to the TTB. I have an extra set of sway bar mounts if you want them to play with.

Hope this helps,
KR

Were your RA drop brackets the same? Did you have to get the RA bushings from Superlift. Dang I keep forgetting you had a Skyjacker.

I had a superlift and the brackets were the same. The wedding rings came with the hardware kit for the brackets. Other than that I used regular bushings.

Well man, seems like you're devoted, which is a good thing! Ahh yes, those late nights when every sound has to be muffled to keep the neighbors happy:shoot: Good luck man!!:redexp:

Well I wouldn't say devoted, actually the wife gave me an ultimatum. As long as she knows I am doing my best to meet her desires she works with me.

Dang sounds like my boss.

what in gods name did you hit or get hit by right beside your half window on the driver side?
