wut about everybody meet at Arroyo Grande, CA at the Wal-mart!!!! at 11:30 am? is that too early??? If anybody arrives early, you can hang out with me, i live practically at pismo... Man i wish I could have my Long travel suspension done for this meet.. Oh well, im getting a sparco seat, driver side roll cage and a five point harness in four weeks!!!

any donations?

Thats cool I am trying to design and build my own long travel suspension. I still need to finish designing the upper and lower a-arms first. The back is a little easier to design.

hey Gi Joe.. if you need a guiny pig Explorer, u can use mine? Wanna do one for me?

I was going to use my X so if I screwup than I will only mess up my X and not someone else's X.
My only problem is I am trying to get a set of arms so I do not have to take my arms off of my X because my X is my daily driver.
I need the set of arms to get measurements and to make it easier for me to make the arms because I could use them as a references when making the long travel arms.
But hey if I get the kit done then I will do one for you.

Hey maybe who ever goes up early on friday then we could hangout on friday night.

Whats the drive like going out there? How long is it from Orange County? Does anyone have the address of the Walmart we are meeting at? Mapquest is my best friend... Thanks Guys and Girls.

96Xsport- Your explorer looks really nice.

if anybody arrives early on friday, gimme a call... gimme a PM for my cell number.. i live in SLO, so its like totally easy for me to chill in pismo.. San luis obispo is ten minutes away..

GI JOE.. how much would it cost for me if you did me a kit? i kno its too early to ask, but if its way cheaper, i might go with your kit!

Well I do not know how much it is going to be. But when I make mine I will try to make a few more kits at the same time. Do not worry mine will be cheaper for the explorer 4x4 people.

I talked to alot of my prerunner friends and they told me the only way to build a good long travel kit for the 98+ explorer's would be to ditch the torsion bars???

96XSport, you should PM chriscush and get in contact with him, he's in that area too... maybe you guys can drive down there together.

Chris, I don't think a long travel suspension would work for us, awd guys because of the CVs, they can only handle so much of an angle. Now they could make a kit where the arms are longer, so we could use longer CVs.

Clarkkent- I planned on ditching the torsion bars and replacing them with 8" or 10" King coilovers. Also I went down to Baker Motorsports today and talk to them about the long travel kit. He said he would help me as much as he could. Or he said that he could make a set of arms on my X then use those to make a jig so we could make more kits. The only problem with having him make them is for the first set it is going to cost anywhere between $4,000 and $5,000 and then for the other kits he will lower the cost alot. Its just the first kit that will cost the most.
But I am still going to try and design the arms first and then try to build them.
I will start a thread on this subject in the suspension lift section later tonight or tomorrow morning so we do not have to come to this thread to talk about the kit.
