Looking for newer b style
Has anyone with a tt/shackles and aal had any problems with driveline and pinion angles? Does the aal come with a shim and does the shackle componsate?

Thanks

No problems whatsoever, and I have TT, Shackles, & AAL. No shims needed.

4x4s shouldn't go more than 2" of TT. But in the rear you don't run into pinion or driveshaft problems until around 4.5+" of lift.

Only problem i've had is that in my short wheelbase Sport the TT/AAL rides like poop and I've lost 2" of front wheel down travel due to the tt (translation, I lift the rear tires alot on off camber stuff ~ which is an interesting feeling)

just out of curiousity what tire sizes are you running with the TT, aal, and shackles. I have read that 32x11.5 rub. which unfortunatly I would like to run with the BFG mud terrains. I dont mind having to cut a little bit of the inner wheel well out but dont what to cut the fender or anything that would cause the vehicle to rust out. also Would a 3.75 BS wheel eliminate the need to hack **** away from the wheel well. Thanks

With only 2" of lift it is hard to fit 32x11.5s without moderate trimming.

Alec: could you elaberate on "moderate" as to how much you mean??

I cut metal to fit my 32" MTs with just TT.

oh really like part of the frame??

but do you think a 3.75 BS wheel would help at all??

I have 3.75 BS.

This is where I had to trim.

I know Digger196 ran the same tires with the same lift and only had to cut plastic. But I don't know how often he rubbed on/offroad.

hmmm....... I like the way your truck looks b4 the body lift. I dont want to cut anything that may cause the vehivle to rust out or a place that would cause mud to sit. Although I do not mind cutting the plastic wheel well. YOu now what I mean.

But like I said, Digger was able to do it with just plastic fenderwell modding. Plus, I was 2WD at that time.

You could go ahead and try it.. and if it rubs too bad.. just throw some hockey pucks under the body. :D

oh ok that doesnt look soo bad could you draw a line on exactly where you cut the the weld and if it resulted in any extra cracking or noises

hahahha I have done that b4 but I had a bad experiance with hockey pucks. so I would like to stay away from that as much as possible

You won't have to cut the frame at all. If any metal, at the rear of the fender like shown above, and maybe the front bumper a bit. Also sometimes when dealing with the pinch weld you can just hammer a bit and not have to cut.

Don't worry about rust. If you lightly sand the metal after cutting, use Duplicolor automotive primer (they have black) and then a Duplicolor topcoat per instructions, it shouldn't ever rust. May need to touch it up every 6 months or so.

EDIT: And yes 3.75" BS is a good choice.

This is the cut I made. It was no biggie really. Or like Alec said you could just bend it back with a hammer. I just cut it since I was hacking up my fenders anyway.
