Dave, ext time you go on a day trip, let me know. I'll sit shotgun with you. I'd love to get on the trails again. I don't have time to build... Sell me your ranger and build another one. :D I have a 2004 D60 and a 10.5 for partial trade you can use in my backyard! - FROADER

Truckhaven: Thanksgiving weekend.
Anyone up for it? I haven't been since I sold my explorer in 2010 and I'm really itching to get out there. I can get out there Friday night and stay until Sunday. I kind of want to see what the 5th Gen can do out there. :) Whose in?- FROADER

UCA's for traxda spacers
You can get any size from BTF. Even with the 2.5" spacers you "should" get some UCAs just to keep the stress off the balljoints. I got 1.25" spacers from BTF just to level mine, that way I didn't need to worry about the UCAs.- FROADER

What is the least inexpensive way to lift or level my 06 explorer?
BTF spacers are what I went with. He is a vendor here and will make the spacers to the specs you want. I asked for a 1.25" spacer and it leveled mine perfectly to fit 32s. Also no need for new upper control arms with such a small lift. BTF's profile page -...- FROADER

Rims and Tires Dana 44
I'm pretty sure Stic-o has 4" backspacing and he is full width. I also think he has 17x8" wheels with 37x12.5 and it looks great!- FROADER

Rims and Tires Dana 44
If you like the skinny look, go with an 8" wheel. If you like the "balloon" look, go with a 10" wheel. When aired down the 8" wheel is less likely to pop a bead as well. I had 36x12.5 on 15x8 with 4" backspacing on my rig.- FROADER

All terrain tires on stock suspension?
I went a little bigger than stock, but I really like my Cooper A/T3s. They are quiet and have worked well in everything I've taken them on. Similar tread to the Nittos.- FROADER

Overland project
I would get a small suspension lift. The RTT will save cargo room, but take the mpg down quite a bit during the trips. They are super easy to use and IMHO well worth the money. If you're not worried about that, I'd go for the RTT. I loved mine when I had it.- FROADER

Project "Twisted Sister" SAS Front Dana 44, Rear Ford 9"
I had a wristed arm on mine. It worked great. The bronco/f150 radius arms are the same length as extended ranger/explorer arms. I had a Skyjacker 6" lift crossmember under my rig.- FROADER
