Mission for MPG's

Originally, I was going to get a diesel engine swap but none of the shops in my area are able to do it, and I definitely don't have the tools or the time to do it myself. So, I'm looking for any alternative mods that can catch me a few miles. Anything from changing the transmission gear ratio to wrapping the headers with heat shielding I'm open to any suggestions. This is my daily driver and I my gas fund is eating away all my money. I greatly appreciate any help anybody has to offer.

Serious advice: get a different car that is inherently better on gas. You'll spend $$$$ on mods to save $ on gas if you mod the Explorer.

^This. Anything you do will not be worth it. I love my Explorer and I just deal with it. The money spent on mods will never pay off, at best it will even out by the time your truck is ready for the scrap yard.
