Rocket, we appreciate you sticking with us. Each post helps ALOT in understnding what the heck goes on. You are kind of taking on a teaching roll, and there are a lot of concepts to wrap our heads around. Just the simple statement of moving the IATS sensor for a true reading, and why is...- Dono

Isn't Rocket saying that having the air entering the motor at the same temperature the IAT is reading ideal? Love the intercooler. A 12v pump, radiator, and you are away to the races.- Dono

Rocket, Thanks for the info, as always. I appreciate the time you spend helping out. I'll have a closer look at my M90 when it gets a bit warmer in the garage. It's a bit nipply outside right now. Also, I'll order my mount soon so I can look at port matching. Also, I'm looking forward to...- Dono

doesn't the top gasket become the bottom for what we are doing? I say this, and (Correct me if I'm wrong) thought it would be the gasket between the m90 and the mount to the lower intake.- Dono

That's all good news. Loosing a bit of coolant every few months wouldn't cause a huge issue in the oil. Back to.....I don't know what could be causing the stumbling, and stalling then. There are enough differences from the OHV (What I have) to SOHC that I cant really even guess.- Dono

Don't worry about the neighbor, he has no clue. Great to see you are spending the time and doing everything nicely, rather than doing a quick and dirty hack job. You could have just hacked it up, and been done in no time. I don't think Evil would treat you very well after that though.- Dono

delta cam rocker arms trashed
Torque in sequence. If the heads are going back on, torque heads, and lower intake bit by bit in sequence. Manual says to, and its always better to be safe. If your not pulling heads, and only lower intake, no choice. Have to just do lower intake using sequence of bolt tightening suggested...- Dono

delta cam rocker arms trashed
My lower intake sat a bit high as soon as I used the Felpro gaskets. Id sure love to figure out how much is safe to shave off the sides of my lower intake, but shave to much and you have BIG trouble. Geometry isn't my strong suit. Id think shaving .005 off each side would be safe, but would...- Dono

delta cam rocker arms trashed
One thing I noticed is that with felpro lower intake gaskets, the lower intake already sits a bit higher than it should. Then, being under the service limit (In my case, shaving .02 off) the lower intake sits even higher. In my case, Im considering shaving my lower intake a bit to make a flush...- Dono

Thats what I read also. There is no way it could be .089 off and be told its ok. I had to think for a minute also when I read it. Im a bit surprised they didn't shave the one slightly to make them both the same. I guess its just so close, its not worth it. edit:It looks like I missed...- Dono

Removing timing cover on 4.0 OHV
I see you coat both sides of your gaskets with the permatex copper. Does that make removal difficult? You obviously find it works better than permatex black. I think I'll try using it.- Dono

I didnt bother going back to Delta on my issue either. Between the cost of shipping, and frustration, it just wasnt worth it to me. As JD said, I probably had under 5000 km on mine, and my motor was noisy. Changed out lifters, and no more ticking. So, I sure hope your experience is going to...- Dono

Ok, now I get it. Lower intake gaskets are cooked. 90% sure. You failed to mention you were going thru coolant. The coolant portion of the gasket blows out, and coolant drains in to the motor. Mine did exactly what you are describing. Mine wouldn't always stall, but would stumble. Better...- Dono

delta cam rocker arms trashed
I think even though Delta thinks people are sending them Ford rockers for rebuild, they aren't. Delta is getting cheap, soft rockers from people for rebuild. That would explain why one bank is made of soft rockers, and the other side seems fine. The compressed rocker definitely creates noise...- Dono

Can you identify where the clicking's coming from? When you put the key in and turn it(Not all the way to engage the starter), do you hear the fuel pump cycle? Have you checked fuel pressure? When the motor stalls, is it running fine, and then just drops off? Once the motor stalls, will it start...- Dono
