    Rear door latches?

Yeah I did see that, I just have to find a way to get my hands in there. There is a whole lot less room in the rear. I think this door has been closed shut for some time. It was so full of dirt/dust in the latch when I finally got it opened up it looked as though it had been this way for a...

    Rear door latches?

Oh yeah its way open. Just got one of the front handles working right again. These rear ones are a pain. I will re read the thread you posted. Inside the latch seems to have a mini spring in there that does t seem to be on the other side.

    Rear door latches?

Anyone have any luck finding these? Junkyard only parts? I got one on the drivers side rear passenger door that just cannot be jiggled the right way to get it to work. I have lubed it up real good but it's still being stubborn. I have got it open twice now but now it's stuck again. There...

    Paul's '91 Sport

Glad to see you still got the humor! I am around, I just really don't post to much anymore. I read all the time but that's about it. Another year or two I hope to get another rig.

    Paul's '91 Sport

Paul I read nothing about the most important part of your front bumper! We all know why that front bar is up so high to hold on to. :) Very nice write-up!

    2013 Focus ST

Has someone already figured out tunes for these cars? I read a while ago that they couldn't be hacked into yet. The Ecoboost is a fun little motor. We have a 2013 Fusion with the 1.6 Ecoboost and see around 26 mpg in the city here in Wichita. In Colorado that was around 19-21 mpg due to the...

Installed Trckmagics Canvas & Vinyl Explorer Windows

I have seen some cool stuff with these guys logo on it. http://www.softopper.com/ford-ranger-soft-top-truck-cap-details.aspx Check out the ranger rear screen panel. I would imagine something like that with the right measurements could get you where you want. :)

    Oh RATS!!!

I have heard that irish spring works too. You put it in the areas that they get into and the smell deters them.

Cut off the inner fenders of their ex for a motor swap? Or even just cut them out and put in something else later when done?

    Rough Idle Questions

Yeah I was happy. I am guessing that one of the items that I replaced also fixed some of the main problems. Very happy with it.

    Rough Idle Questions

Think I got it. But its snowing now so I am inside getting warmed up. There is a rubber 'gasket' that goes in around the egr tube that was somewhat stretched out and icked up. That and I forgot to plug the tube from the air-intake to where you fill the oil up. All things I just passed over...

    Rough Idle Questions

Yeah then later in the article it says inch pounds, which threw me off. I will re-torque it all here this Friday afternoon. Got school tonight so no time.
  19. rpenner54

    Rough Idle Questions

Yup, did both the upper and lower intake gaskets. I will re-check the torque settings on them though. I went off the article on here that was saying it was all in-lbs and not ft-lbs. Somewhat confusing this is what I went off of http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=171819 . I...

    Rough Idle Questions

Looks like I am going to have the search for the leak. I have pulled and checked all the lines to the top of the motor so far and saw no cracks. However I am sure that this has to be the problem like you all are saying. I just had this problem on our aviator and had to replace the hose at...

    Rough Idle Questions

I did plug it but just used my thumb. Maybe not good enough? I will do a good plug on it here Thursday afternoon. I will also get some tools and report back my findings on Vacuum and fuel pressure.

    Rough Idle Questions

Oh yeah, checked the wiring order all was good. Will check the plugs again this weekend. Not enough daylight left. Just went out and checked the brake booster. Pulled that line and got a real good hissing noise and then a pop once I pulled it out. I am assuming that means I had good vacuum...

    Rough Idle Questions

Rick, It's run somewhat bad for a while. CEL on and all that. The plugs were changed just cause my kid thought that would help her. It's her car and she drives it all the time I am just trying to get it running right for her. I was looking at that connection the other day and it could...

    Scott B's 93 Ranger XLT V8

Where did you get a good wiring diagram from? The Chilton's I have leave a bit to be desired. I thought I had something good online but I must have not bookmarked it. I pulled all the tape and loom covers off the new motors wiring harness today and both harnesses are a lot more integrated...

    rpenner54's Build-up

I might have to take you up on that. Let me get through this weekend and by next weekend there should be some "play" money in the the "play" account again. From what I have read there isn't a whole lot of differences on these upper intakes. Except for whatever badge might be on them.

    rpenner54's Build-up

Yeah I hope so! I have gathered up some GT40p heads and will take those plus the block to a machinist here soon and have them build it up. I still need an upper intake, as I tossed the 5.8 one as its to tall and restrictive. I will be going with a Mustang or Explorer style one. This is a...

    rpenner54's Build-up

The reason for the engine swap. 1. Because I want to. 2. 4.0 was running bad, would not idle and did not want to put money into it. 3. Whole combo of engine, tranny, and transfercase PLUS hoist cost me $400. 4. Power + Auto should be fun. 5. Paid $650 for the Explorer. (yup thats six hundred...

    rpenner54's Build-up

This is how you pull a truck out of the garage with no drive train under it. Needed to wash the dirt out of the engine bay once the motor was removed. Laying under the Ex to shift into 4x4. New Transfercase that is going into it. Not so sure I will use this one yet or not. Would like a...

    Scott B's 93 Ranger XLT V8

I was considering making my own but that one might really be the way to go. Especially since my harness I got with the motor was cut in some areas. I really am not sure which way to go yet. I am thinking I want clean and not messy for sure. I do want to keep it like yours as far as keeping...

    Scott B's 93 Ranger XLT V8

Hmm... Yeah that does make it a tougher. I am still dismantiling the truck for the swap. I might have to consider just moving someplace else depending on how much wire length I can get. Did you use the http://oldfuelinjection.com/?p=1 page to help with your wiring or a set of books for each...

    Scott B's 93 Ranger XLT V8

Question for you. Is your ECU mount on the driver's side down under the brake booster? Was that the stock location for a Ranger? My '93 Explorer is in the passenger side kick panel. Yours looks so much easier for wiring up.
