Transmission sealed?
Hey all I have a 03 Lincoln Aviator, same idea as the Explorer/Mountaineer. Anyways are the Ex/MT transmissions sealed at the factory without a dipstick? That is how it is on the Lincoln and I would like to find a way to fix this problem. I don't like it... LOL Thanks!- rpenner54

We just pulled in about an hour ago. They had a small fire on I70 and we had to re-route through Idaho Springs. Ready to mod up the Ex some more and head back out!- rpenner54

How close am I?
Dropped the whole thing today. Got the new slave installed. Now I have a bunch of cleaner sitting on it and am waiting the 10 minutes for it to soak before scrubbing it all off. I ended up just prying off the old slave line and then busting it off. The line it self should be fine. As...- rpenner54

How close am I?
Just tried hitting it and man nothing. It just won't go in anymore. Thinking about cutting it and buying a new line. However I will give it one more shot here soon. Mine is so snagled up from someone using a pair of pliers on it that I don't think it can go in anymore. It was half ripped...- rpenner54

How close am I?
LOL Fine! I gave up for the night anyway. Got to read to my son before bed. :) Other priorities. It's hard to push further in due to it being all cut up/mangled so I might have to get the special tool. Or it might be better to just cut off all the hang nails off it and just try it then.- rpenner54

How close am I?
Don't know how well you can see it but I have shoved the nylon deal in as far as I can. Someone before me tried to do it as well and it's pretty ragged/messed up. Any Hints would be good.- rpenner54

Herculiner
LOL, talk about an OLD OLD OLD Thread! I have since started to remove all the herculiner as I don't like the way it looks, feels, or all the rust coming through it. :) I just wasn't to happy with it, even after putting on 4-6 coats.- rpenner54

Flopped the X on its side...
I bet you have a bit of a space between the top of the door and where it strikes right? I fixed mine somewhat by putting the old tow strap on the door, sandwhiching a 2x4 and also used a 2x6 between the lower portion of the door and then tugged on the door till the truck was coming off the... -

Can you post a pic of how you built your coil buckets/shock towers? :) Thanks! I need to make a set but want to see a good clear pic of what someone else has done before I start wasting metal. :) -
1992 Axle Replacement (Ryan Penner)
Yup it's a HD D44 from a F250 that had the leaf spring perches on it. :D I took them off... What do you mean level? Wouldn't they always be a bit angled? I won't be making an extended arm, I would rather wrist it at some point in the future.- rpenner54

1992 Axle Replacement (Ryan Penner)
I will be moving the lower stuff in. I am not sure if I will move it forward any, I am possibly going to do that but that means I have to fab up some new coil /shock towers... Here are some newest "mods". HD D44 with the brackets just freshly ground off. Radius arms off of who knows what.... LOL The last of the stupid lift parts coming off the Ex! Bout time! LOL If you look at the pic you will notice that one of the parts that goes on the...- rpenner54

Herculining plastic...yes Ive searched
I wouldn't waste your money. Your going to hate it after it fades... :) Mine faded. You can't wash the stuff with a sponge, it just tears it up. It will stick to plastic though, I put it on both my mirrors and its stayed for as long as its been there.... I have just removed as much as...- rpenner54

Just about anything "useless" I would rather keep the a/c system more or less just for OBA. :) I wonder if Fiberglass really saves that much weight?- rpenner54

Need to get rid of dead weight up Front
The question is, what all can I remove? I plan on running a HDD44 (Which isn't that HD) with some 36-37" tires. I want to remove as much stuff from the front end that I can. Even the back. Here is the kicker, I am not ready to remove the interior panels yet... LOL What should I pull off...- rpenner54

1992 Axle Replacement (Ryan Penner)
No, I had to cut them off and re-weld them on a little bit closer together. Well I didn't weld them, one of my buddies did... I probably will get disc brakes on it someday. I need/want to have a good e-brake too... :)- rpenner54

1992 Axle Replacement (Ryan Penner)
I parked my truck in my garage over a year ago. I parked it in the garage knowing that my front D35 balljoints and maybe even the wheel bearings were shot once again. Well why bother with replacing the wheel bearings AGAIN, with something that just doesn't work. So I ditched both the axles...- rpenner54

5.5" SuperLift Setup with questions
Don't bother with the superlift front shocks. They are garbage... Along with the rear ones. I love my Rancho RS9000's. With the way the superlift handles they are almost a must.- rpenner54
