Help! Probably an easy one > How many O2 Sensors?
Could be a lot of things. Cheer up. It's probably not the O2 sensors or cats. Service manual sez: ---------- Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) P0171 bank 1 (Cylinder 1) and DTC P0174 bank 2 indicate the fuel/air ratio is too lean. The fuel trim system is at the rich correction limit. Possible...- Spuddy

Tranny flush question.....
Experience? I have been running the Lucas #10418 for 40,000 miles, so far, with no issues whatsoever, and quite to the contrary, I have experienced improved performance. Do you ( fastgascar and swshawaii) have experience with the Valvoline Dex/Merc, or just distrust Lucas on general...- Spuddy

Tranny flush question.....
Recommended (vs) Suitable If it were me, I would (and did) use the Lucas Multi-Vehicle (#10418). Did you notice that MERCON V is first on their list of recommended applications? Evidently, this product was specifically designed to be a MERCON V fluid that also happens to be suitable for a...- Spuddy

Tranny flush question.....
Hierarcy I believe that MERCON V has always been partially synthetic based = semi-synthetic = synthetic-blend, etc. - whatever the folks from the Marketing Dept. wanna call it his week. So, upgrading to Full-Synthetic and/or mixing with a synthetic-blend (etc.) - this would just be...- Spuddy

Tranny flush question.....
Further Clarification I probably worded my quote above BACKWARDS. It should have read: Easy rule-of-thumb is Mercon® does not equal Mercon®V ! That is to say, Mercon is not suitable for use in Mercon V spec'd transmissions. Mercon V is tighter spec'd than Mercon (now discontinued)...- Spuddy

Speed Control Deactivation Switch Recall (09S09)
Yes and yes. Your 2002 ST is on the list (see my post above for the link to the notice). If the fusable-harness-Band-Aid has been performed, you will see a big sticker on the harness, as seen in the photo in post #1 . If the switch is orange, it is original and a potential problem.- Spuddy

The code about your cat (P0420, right?) is likely a big nuthin and is unrelated to your 'tranny issue' and probably unrelated to the cat as well. 'Pressure Riser' resistor wiring Sorry for the late reply, but if this does not help you anymore, it may help someone else... The resistor goes across the EPC solenoid wires (technically: in parallel to the EPC). Since this is just a resistor, polarity does not matter. It is a 75 ohm...- Spuddy

Tranny flush question.....
Did mine TODAY The thero-valve is located in the valve body. It does not allow fluid to flow to the cooler(s) until fluid temp reaches 150F, so you have to let engine and tranny warm up before any fluid flows through the cooler lines. Since you have the tow package, you have two external...- Spuddy
