Questions regarding lighting and replacing speakers in a '95 Explorer Eddie Bauer

I can attest that the JBL's that came out of my Explorer were horrible at that point in their life, they sounded warm but lacked clarity and I don't think they were rendering anything over 10k hz. And those were just the front door speakers, the rear door speakers didn't look like anything more...

Questions regarding lighting and replacing speakers in a '95 Explorer Eddie Bauer

If the antenna mast is bent you should be able to replace it with this, and barring some catastrophic failure inside the motor it should work again. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-EXPLORER-1995-1997-Power-Antenna-MAST-NEW-/370461814395?pt=Other_Vehicle_Parts&hash=item56413eae7b&vxp=mtr

No, open the little panel that houses your jack and rear window washer fluid on the left side, and see if there's a black electrical switch.

Questions regarding lighting and replacing speakers in a '95 Explorer Eddie Bauer

I have a 95 Limited with the same setup, and a few years ago I went through this same thing. Without installing your Pioneer nav unit, you can replace the speakers and sub without too much problem. New door speakers by themselves will wake the stock system up like you wouldn't believe. The...

    Air Ride System

If yours does in fact have the air ride, then it'll have air piston shocks on the rear that are inflated by a compressor under the spare tire and controlled by a height sensor that goes between the frame and the axle. The only practical way to keep the functionality of the air ride is to...

    Extra coolant hose?

Yup, it is, OHV was the only option in 95. Mine has a temp sensor on the back side of the T, but the plug doesn't look stock, either. I think I'll do that as soon as I can pick up a new hose. Thanks for replying.

    Extra coolant hose?

I have a 95 Limited and according to the gauge it's been running cold more or less since I got it by about 1/4 of the gauge and the heater is nowhere near hot; I changed the thermostat once before and it fixed the problem enough to where I could deal with it, but with it getting cold I decided...

    Projector foglight durability

They're not vented and the bodies are fairly thick, so there would be considerable heat build up inside them, but I'm not sure about melting.

    Projector foglight durability

I have that same set in my ex. I'm happy with the light output, they're decently bright with the included 35w bulbs and mount in the stock location. However, half of one of the halos burnt out within a few months, and after about a year one of the glass covers cracked in half. They're also bad...

    ControlTrac on a 302 setup...

http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=85487 http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ADD-50-8405/ I'm also looking into this project, I'm trying to find a wrecked V8 to steal the drivetrain out of and put in my 95 Limited.

    5.0 oil pan and C.A.D.

In a stock Explorer with a 5.0 and AWD, how much room is there between the live front axle and the engine oil pan? Does anyone have a photo of the area? I'm trying to figure out if it's possible fit a 5.0 over top of a D35 with the Center Axle Disconnect, without a body lift. 410Fortune was...

My 1998 Explorer XLT doesn't lock.

You don't by chance have the Electrical and Vacuum Troubleshooting Manual for 1998 Explorers, do you? It has diagrams for all of the major electrical systems in the truck. If you plan on keeping the truck for a while I would suggest picking up one off of ebay or wherever you can find one you're...

    97 explorer doors locking continuously

Did you ever check that chassis ground in the amp compartment? You did exactly the same thing I did by removing the stock amp and sub, and you've ended up with exactly the same result I got when I didn't have those grounds hooked up as well as they should have been. I mean, I'm not telling you...

    97 explorer doors locking continuously

My 95 Limited started doing that once when I disconnected some of the grounds next to the amplifier and sub box in the back.

Wrong Wiring Harness for Transfer Case

I don't see why it wouldn't work. You could plug the circulation holes in the transfer case with some silicone or rubber o-rings and a rivet, fill it with 2 quarts of Merc 3 and put it on.

Wrong Wiring Harness for Transfer Case

Yes, you could make the 4405 work if you wanted to badly enough. In his post, Stadx2 goes over how to wire the 4405 into a V8 explorer that never had an electric Tcase, but you can just disregard that part. In your case, I would remove all of the old Tcase wiring, except maybe the constant...

Will adding lights mess with the LOM?

Thanks OneLever, that's how I will have all of my lights. Halos will be like I said, fogs will be off/low beams/parking lamps, long range driving lights will be off/high beams/parking lamps (after flipping a second safety switch), backup lights will be off/automatic/on (with a second safety...

Will adding lights mess with the LOM?

Yes, it *is* great news, because those wires *will* take it. I don't think there would be a 15 amp fuse on a circuit that could only handle 5 amps, do you? Also, let me direct you to what Bill Kemp just said; "I added 10 Watt bulbs to the parking lights on my 96 and had no problems. The halos...

Will adding lights mess with the LOM?

I like the idea of relays, I'm in the process of wiring in three for all of the sets of lights on my truck. I do not like the idea of wiring in a fourth just to run 1.5 amps, at most, worth of lights. I have the EVTM and Body/Chassis manuals.

Will adding lights mess with the LOM?

Excellent, thanks Bill. I'm still going to run the halo leads from inside at the center console though, I've convinced myself that I want to have an easier way to disable them than crawling under the front bumper and pulling plugs.

Will adding lights mess with the LOM?

Onelever: The Parking Light circuit has a 15 amp rating, of which only 5~6 amps are being used between the actual lamps and the draw from the headlamp switch, and it should be able to step up and handle 7.5 amps and be safely fused if I wire the halos into it. The LOM itself is what I was...

Will adding lights mess with the LOM?

Here's a question the for LOM Gods out there... I have a 95 Limited with the LOM. I recently picked up a front bumper from a 99 and installed some projector fog lights with CCFL halos. Combined, I think the halos draw between 1 and 1.5 amps. The regular parking lamps draw about 5 amps...

    4.0 OHV Intake Plenums?

Raga, instead of going with an aluminum plenum, see if you can find one of the plastic ones like on Grnmachine and my 95's. Swap them out and see if your truck performs better with one or the other. Performance aside, it looks like our earlier plastic plenums are a bit beefier so they ought not...

    4.0 OHV Intake Plenums?

Brandon: Hah, not quite. I've got a black plastic plenum on MY 95. Raga: Nope, they had 3, one aluminum and two plastic. Aluminum was 91-94, smooth plastic was from 95 to 96 apparently, since 97 to 01 had versions of the blocky plastic one. Here's my 95... Sorry the focus sucks, it's pitch...
