    Homemade Grille

Since my explorer was wrecked a couple years ago, and now the grille will not fit on it. I am going to make a homemade grill out of some sheet metal. One of my friends said i should make it look like teeth, since it looks like a mouth already :) I was thinking of cutting the sheet metal to look...

    Rear brakes fixed!!!

After all this time, the thing wrong with the rear antilock brakes was the valve on the bottom of the RABS Unit needed to be depressed. So i knocked it in with a hammer and screw driver. The valve got messed up pretty bad because it was fragile and i knocked the hell out of it. BUT my rear...

    Brake Proportioning valve??

I am not getting fluid to my rear brakes at all. Only when i press the emergency brake. This means i have very little braking power. What can i do for this. I am thinking it has something to do with the ABS since the Rear Antilock light is on.

    Not braking very well

So my 1992 explorer has been sitting for about 4 years. I have recently began to work on it, and now after 5 months, it is in perfect running order. BUT when i press the brakes, it takes about 10-20 feet to stop completely. Why would it be doing this. It shouldn't be the brake pads, they were...

Strange Clunking near driverside wheel when braking?

Yes, you were right, it is the radius arm bushing :( My uncle, changed the bushings like 7-8 years ago, and instead of going through the trouble of pulling the arm all the way out, he just cut a slot out of the bushing and slipped it onto the arm. When the Ex got in a front end crash, it lost...

Access Fuel Pupm on 1993 Explorer

Good job. I did this also, but yours looks a hell of a lot better. I used a hammer and screw driver to make the hole, then switched to a saw zaw :)

    Changing Transmission Fluid!! Or not

I have a 1992 automatic explorer 4d. It has 191,000 miles on it and it has never had the transmission fluid changed. I've heard that it would be bad to change or flush it. My dad has a 1999 ford ranger that he got the transmission fluid flushed and his works fine. He had about 110,000 miles on...

Problems with disconnect duckbill fuel line connector.

I did this same thing a week ago. Cutting a trap door was a lot easier than fighting with the extremely rusted bolts on the tank strap :) I got a metal tool from Harbour Freight that is used for fuel lines, and it wasn't that hard. I got the multi colored pack with 4 sizes. BUT When I was...

    Indoor lights stuck on

I tried turning the switch for the lights, it didnt go off. I've been forced to pull the headlight fuse, but that turns off all the inside lights :( Thank god i'm not driving it yet

    Fuel Tank access from top.

I second this choice, it was a big time saver. I just started cutting behind the back seat :) make sure you measure it well.

    Indoor lights stuck on

My indoor lights(dome and back) are on all the time when the key is out and the engine is off. I have a 1992 explorer 2wd 4d. It's like there is a door open, but none of them are. Does anyone know what fuse goes to those lights? Or anyway i can stop it from doing this? For now i just unplug the...

    Fuel Gauge does not work

I recommend, if you need to get to the fuel pump, cut a hole behind the drivers side back seat. Make an "access hatch" search on here for how to do it. It took me about 2 hours to do it. But i N***er rigged the hell out of it. Instead of risking using an angle grinder and making sparks, I used a...

How to check relays. And no spark trouble shooting

Ok, the fuel pump was not coming on at all. I made an access panel behind the driver side back seat. It was a huge PITA! I got to the wires for the fuel pump, and i hooked a battery up to it and it's still not running. So, I'm going to replace it next weekend when i get paid.

How to check relays. And no spark trouble shooting

Ok, I have figured, either the fuel pump is bad or the injectors are clogged? How to find out which?

How to check relays. And no spark trouble shooting

How do i ground the fuel pump test lead???????

How to check relays. And no spark trouble shooting

No, the fuel pump doesn't come on. Is there a way to trace the wires? All i see is that it goes into the tank, then comes out and goes into that machine on the side rail under the car. Where else do the wires go through to get to the inertia switch? Through the car interior?????
  24. S

What is the machine on the fuel line?

YES That thing, what is it? is it supposed to turn on? and how do i know if it works?
