    Doors Continuously Locking...?

Help me out with a friends 96 explorer if you could! I came over last night and heard the doors locking over and over, about once per second. When my friend tried to leave this morning the battery was dead. Knowing that the battery was already weak, I though maybe a dying battery set...

Hey everyone, I need some help with my rear Aussie locker. My truck is parked in front of my garage (in the alley) of my townhouse, been there since last night, neighbors aren't happy... Short story: Center pin is stuck. Locker doesn't fit in clearances... Long story: I received a warranty...

Yes another "towing w/ OD" question. Please look

Thanks for looking, I hate these threads as much as you do! Generally I always turn overdrive off when I tow, but I regeared and I'm running pretty high rpms. 4.88 gears with 33" tires. In overdrive: 60mph = 2250 rpm 70mph = 2650 rpm 75mph = 2850 rpm Overdrive off: 60mph =...

Bronco 2 to Sport Trac, manual transfer case swap?

I know I know, another thread about transfer case swap questions. I searched but had a hard time finding the answers I was looking for. I found two bronco 2's in my area that are being parted, both with functioning manual transfer cases. I've read mixed things about what will bolt up and what...

    97 Explorer tranny slippage. ugh

So my wife calls me today, and tells me that her 97 Explorer (4.0L 4x4 auto 108k miles) is running "funny". First she told me that it idles high and rough when she starts it. Okay, maybe no big deal, it's cold. I can look into that more later. Then she says that her transmission "slips" when...

    Drawtite front receiver?

Does anyone have pictures of a drawtite (or any other manufacturer) front receiver installed on a sport trac? I'd like to see how/where exactly it mounts to get an idea what it would look like (unmodified) with a body lift. Or how easily it would be modified to fit with the body lift. I'm having...

A little flex after the locker install

Whew, finally got the Aussie locker finished in the rear axle. Took it for a run around the block and seems to be working just fine. I had the sway bars disconnected so I found ramp and took a couple of quick pictures. The front is fully cycled, still a bit of travel left in the back end. Seems...

    Aussie Locker Install

I'm about to install the aussie locker into the sport trac, in the rear 31 spline 8.8". I found a write up and it looks pretty strait-forward, but... Has anyone in here personally installed an Aussie locker? Any tips or tricks, or hang-ups I should be aware of? Here's a link to the...

    Body lift and 33's!

Snapped a few quick pictures of the sport trac. Worked all weekend on the body lift (what a pain some of that was!), put the wheels and tires on today. Had to trim a fair amount of plastic in the front wheel wells but all seems clear now! So far; 3" body lift 33x12.50 cooper stt's on 15x8's...

Have you body-lifted a sport trac?

Good! Maybe you can help me out then :D Finished the body lift tonight, everything is back on and looks good! I did notice that the A/C line rested on the the tensioner pulley, so it is held back by a few zip ties until I find a more permanent solution. Anyway, on to my problem... I can't seem...

    Official Introduction

Well I've been sort of a lurker here for a while with my Ranger, but I just picked up an 05 sport trac a few days ago, so I thought I would introduce myself. :D I've been over at offroadrangers.com for a few years with my 98 Ranger. The ranger is an XLT Supercab 4x4 4.0L manual tranny with a...

    Rear window wiring mods?

Just picked up an '05 Sport Trac, and I'm wondering if anyone has modified the rear sliding window switch? I would like to be able to have more control over the rear window, instead of just open, vent, and closed. Thanks!
