    Flex-Lite Electric Fan install

I installed the Flex-Lite electric fan today. Part number 175, slated for the Mustang 5.0. I had looked and that was the one recommended for the Ranger. None was listed for the 92 Explorer. The install of the fan itself took about 15 minutes, including removing the stock one. Installation...

    Alignment Experts please chime in

I have the Rancho 2 1/2' Suspension kit with 3" body lift and Warrior Shackles. I ordered the coil spring seats from the F-150 to get a little more lift on the front end because I don't really want to trim my fenders to run the 33x12.50's on 15x10 rims. They sit pretty right now, but I am...

    Dashboard removal on 91-94

Well everything else is out of my truck right now, so I might as well take out the dash and paint it too. I cannot seem to locate my Ford Exploder CD I bought off of eBay and MY Haynes manual doesn't cover it. Has anyone ever taken the complete dashboard out? If so, can you please give me...

    soundproofing

Before I put the interior back in my truck I am going to use dynomat. Bought a box of it cheap on eBay. Question: When I do the door panels, should I take the factory plastic "vapor barrier" or what ever it is off first, or just cover over the top of it? Thanks

    Question about gas tanks.

I went to put a gas tank that had been on a 93 Navajo into my 92 Explorer. The top plate that is held in place by the locking ring from my 92 was about 1 1/2" in diameter (across) smaller than the hole in the new tank. Does anyone know if they made such a change between 92 and 93?

    Autotoys.com

:fire: On 1/28/02 I ordered $160.00 of various parts from www.autotoys.com because they seemed to have some pretty good prices... and they advertise "Please tell your friends about AUTOTOYS.COM - A company founded by real installers. 7+ years of excellence online. " I never received an email...

What temperature do you bake PVC?

I can tell all ready where this thread is going to go, but I need to ask because my wife won't let me experiment with the oven. I am bound and determined to get my custom intake done and rerouted to the other side of the engine compartment. One option would be to use 2 3/4 ID electrical PVC...

So I am down at the local boat supply

...looking for some 3" tubing that I can use to make a custom air intake. I want to redirect mine so I can put the dual battery where the airbox was. Looking on the wall, I see this bilge vent fan that says it will move 1050 CFM and it costs $49.50 and fits a 3 inch hose. I am sitting here...

    plastic trim "plugs"

Does anyone know of a supplier of the plastic trim "plugs" that are used to hold on the interior panels near the rear windows. Mine were so brittle, that the all busted in one form or fashion. I was a good boy and did a search om "plastic trim plugs" but couldn't find anything, and searching...

Last thread this year - CD in Glove box

I bought a Pioneer CDX-P1270 that I was goint to put in my new center console. I now would like to put it where the glove compartment is, and still be able to close the door. At 10 1/8 x 3 3/4 x 6 3/4, does anyone know if I will be successful? It looks like the side that would be towards the...

    Aftermarket Amp in stock location

If I mount an aftermarket amp (Lanzar 215 for the subwoofer and maybe a second bigger one for the other speakers) in the location where the stock amp is (behind the panel by the passenger rear wheel) do I have to do anything to let the heat out? I was thinking I might have to drill some vent...

    mahieber '92 4x4 MAKEOVER

92 4x4 MAKEOVER I have started the next round of mods to the 92 X with some basic performance parts(I've had the chip for 7 or 8 years). 1. Added the Granatelli MAF sensor... getting the thing to fit in the old gasket was the only real trouble. Lesson 1. Take the whole intake tube off...

"Best" way to do a radio replacement

I have a '92 XLT with AM/FM/Cassette which has been giving me troubles for about a year. When listening to the radio, the volume cuts out intermittently. Seems to work okay with tapes. I am ready to swap out the head unit, and have pretty much decided on a cassette unit with a CD changer. We all...

92 Explorer Premium Stereo Volume Changes

my 92 factory JBL? pops and then the volume goes way down, and it seems to have a mind of it's own or someone has a remote control and watches me wiggle some wires then it pops and goes back to normal. 91 4x4 sprayed out all the ATF

I was 298 miles from home, 2 miles from my deer lease, when my automatic tranny stopped engaging, and I had ATF dripping from the bottom of my truck when I stopped. It seemed that it must have started as a small leak somewhere on the right above the exhaust because there was black sooty oil all...
