    Hello from an old friend...

WOW! Thanks for the open arms welcome. Stephen- I did have a problem with it. Either with a strong wind or 80+mph speed, a LOUD vibrating noise would resonate from the front roof line. After 5 tries Honda couldnt isolate it. They would have taken it towards another Honda...I didnt really like...

    Good bye...Sold my explorer!

We also have the 01 EX Starlight Silver. It had 3 miles on it when we got it. Still had plastic on the seats. KVO: Do you like the Kelton Subwoofer? Did you get fog lamps too? How hard were they to install? -Bryan

    Good bye...Sold my explorer!

We read lots of reviews and looked at the 4 year residual for many minivans. The Honda won hands down. It keeps 52% of its value at 4 years. I think the windstar was around 28%. The residual % makes a huge difference when you lease. We also fell in love with the dissapearing 3rd seat. 215hp and...

    Good bye...Sold my explorer!

The Odyssey wasbothof our ideas. Our biggest problem was getting a decent trade in. We were told by all of the dealers "Explorers are a dime a dozen." I was only able to get payoff from them, which was $1000 over low blue book. I did get my Superchip out before the trade. I also have grey...

    Good bye...Sold my explorer!

Last night was a very sad one. I traded my explorer and bought a mini van. Since the purchase of my new home (1 AUG 01) and the arrival of my son (9 May 01). We needed to get a more practical / less expensive vehicle. My 99 Limited was hard to let go. As my wife said: "Its not just about us...

Goose's 99 Limited. Before and After

I had to weld in a cross member from the driveline to the power steering pump. No..Just kidding. I had an alignment check and nothing was out of tolerance. -Bryan

Goose's 99 Limited. Before and After

My tires were not replaced under anything with ford or firestone. The tire store (which happened to be firestone) gave me $60 each for my old tires. I put the $240 towards the BFGs.

Goose's 99 Limited. Before and After

While I had mine up on jacks, I turned my Torsion screws all the way in. I had OVER 3". I let the truck weight down and let the screws out to 1.5". Drove it around to settle at 1.25" Shackles go on the rear leaf springs. I have a trailer hitch so the shackles came even with the bottom of...

Goose's 99 Limited. Before and After

Cost: $56 + 4 hours of my time. Warrior shackles = 1.5" and a 1.25" Torsion twist. (Front was a little higher to start with.) My tires were strictly a tire trade-in. Nothing to do with the recall. They gave me $60 each for my original tires which had 24K miles on them. But I "had" to purchase...

NO supercharger I' lookin for a turbo or twin turbo kit.

I might be interrested in an NOS kit for my 99 Limited 4.0 SOHC:p How long is a bottle good for ?.... How big of a HP setup would be reccommended for a newer vehicle? Anyone else just add a NOS kit and what did you think? A supercharger is way too expensive right now. -Greengoose

Goose's 99 Limited. Before and After

I ordered mine without the airshocks. I have the ISA shocks all around. The Warrior Shackles were perfect. I ended up with 1 3/8" lift all around. I then went from 255/70/16 (30.5")to 265/75/16 (31.8 ") I immediately noticed a few things. My power had dropped but not enough to care. I have to...

    Length of shackle....???

Im DONE!!!!!!!.... Had to cut the bolts off. New saw cut them like butter. Did the torsion twist and bottomed out the screws and got 3.5" of front lift. I couldnt belive how much room there was to play with on the torsion screws. Since that was toooooo high I cranked them back down to 1.7"...

    Length of shackle....???

redexplr, That did the trick. I just let the axle hang and the bolts popped out easily. I had to go buy a reciprocating saw to cut the bolts off since the trailer hitch was in the way. The battery is charging for the saw. I should finish it up tomorrow. Hopefully the wife wont go into labor...
