    Electrical live connections

I don't think you are going to find that on a '97. It's either a full time connection to the battery, or an accessory position which goes dead when you turn the key off.

I hope you're ok Gregg. Sorry to hear that the trailer has to go. :(

Do the pistons and valves look ok?

The bits of debris between the piston and cylinder wall could very well be from removing the spark plugs or manipulating the camera. Carbon can accumulate at the base of the plug and removing the plug can dislodge small amounts of carbon. The weird swirls on the exaust valve is not something...

    RV Update / Upgrade Thread

Sounds like a good plan. I have two Starlinks now, one for the home, and the new mini for the RV. They let you put the plan on hold for when it's not in use. The MyRadar app I'm running on the Ipad was a game changer for my cross country trip. There were some strong storms in Missouri and...

Stic-o Class C RV. Say hello to Sunny🌞

Steve, how is it dealing with gas stations with the Ranger hooked up? Since most of the truck stops that I've been to don't have gasoline at the big rig pumps, I've had to gas up at the regular pumps and it always seems tight, even without a toad. I just got back from a three week trip to...

Can I take a cylinder head from the junkyard and install it right away, or would the timing be off?

Swapping cylinder heads on a 5.0 will not affect valve timing.

I was just thinking about you. Took these shots at the Volo museum in IL last week.

I deleted the link to Imgur. There were no photos there that related to your question.

Go to an auto parts store and have them attach their code reader. Checking for stored codes would be the first step.

    Return from Truckhaven Jan. 08

This came up in the random photos block. This was a great run. Hard to believe it was nearly 20 years ago. Sadly we've lost at least a couple of our friends since then. :(

    Tuffy center console

I did a search and checked them out. I would think the universal 8" would work, but I don't know the width of the stock console off hand. It may be too high to make a comfortable armrest.

    94 disk conversion ebrake sucks

Does it use the rear brakes from a later model Explorer, or is it a kit that doesn't use Explorer components at all? I have had good luck with the Explorer stuff, but not with aftermarket ebrake setups. If I recall you set the parking brake tension at the lever under the dash. I just don't...

    Off to the dark side...

Fuel in the oil and they immediately think it's because of a compromised deck surface? No chance it's an issue with the fuel injection system? Did they do a compression test or test for blowby in the coolant?

    Throttle Sticking Help

Sounds like what happens when you have a vacuum leak. Check all your vacuum hoses to ensure they are attached and not cracked. With a helper you can also verify that the throttle body is closing with the throttle pedal and not sticking. You can test that with the engine off.

2026 Ford Explorer Platinum Drops 3.0L V6 EcoBoost

Sharpening their pencils to figure out how to pull more profit from the same vehicle? Pull the more expensive engine option, but leave the price close to the same it was?

From my experience weird gremlins like that can be attributed to a bad ground, or corroded battery cables.

2026 Ford Explorer Tremor Debuts & Gains 3.0L EcoBoost Option

2026 Ford Explorer Tremor Debuts & Gains 3.0L EcoBoost Option

That is really a nice option. My only complaint for Ford is that they have kept the 400HP rating of the 3.0 for too long. It's time to step up the output. We know it's easily obtainable through a factory purchased tune, but in the "old days" manufacturers would increase horsepower ratings just...
