Post turbo & front converter replacement project issues - P0234 & P0430 code
I found out what was causing my P0234. I took a vacuum pump and put it on the main lines going to the turbos. I pumped up some vacuum and noticed the vacuum drop. Upon further inspection, I found the rear hose to be damaged. I replaced the rear vacuum line and the car runs night and day...- josh_ruppert

Post turbo & front converter replacement project issues - P0234 & P0430 code
I have seen threads with people trying the cat cleaner. But this cat is brand new. I have also seen where people put in the o2 extender. Just seems to me that it ought not to need any modifications.- josh_ruppert

Post turbo & front converter replacement project issues - P0234 & P0430 code
Hello everyone, It has been a pretty busy few weeks but I have the Explorer Sport back together and driving. The vehicle runs decent but appear to be experiencing some issues. I do feel a surge when accelerating. Sometimes is worse than others. At WOT, it will surge, as if power is being...- josh_ruppert

Is it possible to drop the pan without pulling anything first? I was underneath looking up with the pan yesterday and appears like it could drop. Situation is frustrating. I found an engine for $2,000 but had 90,000 mi on it with the turbos. I feel as if maybe I should have went that route.- josh_ruppert

Do you think I should drop the pan? I figured out where the filters are. The one I pulled out of old line was caked with metal.- josh_ruppert

I pulled the threaded thingy that goes into the block that the oil lines connect to. I was under the impression there should be a filter here. Not seeing anything in the block. 🤔- josh_ruppert

It's taken me a while to get back to this post. I bought new turbos and I bought the converter for the front side. It's been one hell the project so far. I started at 9:00 in the morning on Friday. Ended at 5:00. Started again this morning at 11:00. And I just now got the back turbo out. I tried...- josh_ruppert

Lower oil return line - front side
I'm in the middle of replacing my turbos. I have the front turbo and cat off. Have the rear cat removed. The rear oil return line came off easily. The front one not so much. It acts as if it is attached by some other means to the oil pan. Does the front lower oil line come off? I purchased new...- josh_ruppert

Purchasing a set of OEM Ford Turbo's - which supporting parts should I purchase?
I found a decent pricing on some turbo's through a dealership in Michigan. Decided to spend an extra $150 on each turbo for the 3 yr / 36k warranty instead of the Dorman's on rockauto. What else should I be purchasing? I read that I should be purchasing oil lines. Should I replace upper and...- josh_ruppert

I took back that harbor freight compression tester yesterday. Rented one from a parts store and rechecked that cylinder over my lunch period. smh... I haven't had a good opportunity to take a look at the turbo. I drove my son's 16 SHO today. That thing is quick. Makes my car feel like a 4 cyl. Anything else I should do before buying another engine? This is going to be a LOT of work to swap out.- josh_ruppert
