    Albuquerque run

Brian1 and I are putting together an informal run on the west side of ABQ on the 22nd of june. Not a big deal, just an opportunity to get together and work the vehicles and our mouths. If anyone is in the area and interested let one of us know.

    ALBUQUERQUE NM WHERE'S THE TRAILS????

Marty, if you want to come out to the west side there's a huge place to go. Enough wheeling for the whole day. Email me and we'll get together.

    Lifter Tick: Verdict needed...

Joe, yes, the heads have to come off to change the lifters. 90% of the time the lifters are ok, it's the pushrods and rockers that are worn. I'd start with those and if that doesn't fix it you'll have to do the lifters. Wait till you get a price for the rods and rockers. About $200.

    PigPen in the mud!

Think about how deep that hole really is guys, that sploder sits on 10"of lift and has 36" rubber. In other words the water is about 4 foot deep. Trust me, I ended up upside down in it the day before.

    331 Stroker Swap

Pete, the auto will give you a better crawl ratio because of the converter, it effectively doubles the gearsets ratio. Won't show it that way on paper but it will on the trail. Just go to the boneyard and get the tranny and 1356 case out of a 4x4 truck, that way you'll have a manual case also...

axle o-rings next to c clip

The biggest reason they are in there is to hold the c-clips during assy at the factory. I don't see that they serve a purpose except for that. Usually they get old and brittle and crack from heat and get flushed out with the fluid when it drains.

I need a axle ? answered real fast

Depends what it's out of? It's possible it could be a coarse spline axle, and it has to be a regular low pinion diff. It's probably got drums also right? I think I'd look for a high pinion with discs and end up with a better driveline angle and better brakes. Should be able to find one even...

    EMERGENCY Attica Run

Yea Pete, the newest pics are up here. http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumIndex?u=1153055&a=12988998&f=0 We wrinkled up alot of sheetmetal this time, and I broke an axle but aside from that we had a really good time.

Tom, if you guys get something finalized, post it on here. I won't know till the last minute if I can come or not, but it doesn't look good right now.

    Solid axle ?'s

Looks like you've got a good start on it, it also looks like there are alot of other "spare" parts laying around in the background.

Lock Right "vs" Powertrax No Slip

I've got Lock Rights front and back in my truck and run 35's. My 8.8 is only a 28 spline and I haven't had any trouble. Offroad, yea. We run the badlands in Indiana several times a year. Check out the link in my sig.

    EMERGENCY Attica Run

Well, it's been a rough couple of days for the last hold outs for moab from Illinois. The double trailer fell through and Scotts company jacked him around on his paycheck so in order to get our fix and relieve the frustration we're going to attica this weekend. Scott, Anne and I are going...

    MOAB EXPLORER EXTRAVAGANZA 2001

Yep, Ricks right. Riff and me won't be able to make it due to a logistical problem. No trailer to get the vehicles out there and Riffs company jacked him around with the paycheck. We've been working on this problem for a couple days and it just isn't going to happen. Looks like thats the end...

    Solid axle ?'s

Tom, the axle mounting surface difference between the axles is 1/2" higher on the 44's arms. I made my mounts 2+1/2" thick for a total difference of 3" higher than it sat with the 35 in it. I was running 4" springs on top of that for I guess about 7" of lift.

    Solid axle ?'s

Tom, go ahead and grab the tracbar mount, I used the factory one on mine and Riffs. It all depends how you mount it. Me and Riff are both running 4" backspacing, if you can get less do so, it will help keep the tires out of the radius arms. I'm running a dropped arm on mine also. As far...

    MOAB EXPLORER EXTRAVAGANZA 2001

Sorry to hear you can't make it Dre. What did you do with the hotel? Anything? Also, a question for you guys, I just spoke to a friend from ABQ that wants to meet me there, Haven't seen him for about three years, but we used to wheel together every weekend. Anyway he want's to drive up and...

    Tire choices.........?

Well, heres my .02, I'd run 37x12.50x15 SSR's. I know they weren't on the list but I like them better than the others.

wanna regear, but i need help

If you can do the rear yourself why can't you do the front? It's the same deal setting the front up as the back. Can someone in your shop help or guide you? That's whats usually most economical.

Solid axle on a 98 what do ya think?

Austin, I've got a spare housing if you decide to go through with this.

Where to get d-44 cut at?

Take it to your garage and cut it there if you have a chop saw or power hacksaw, thats what I did. Any machine shop can cut it for you, about 15 minutes worth of labor or so. Dale cut his long side 6+3/8" I think and he runs the EB shaft in that side. The short side will still use the stock...

    broken d35 bearing cap..

Tom, originally the caps are machined with the housing to ensure proper crush on the bearing races, If you found another cap and used it the race might not have the proper preload and spin inside the case. It's kind of iffy at best. A good machine shop should be able to cut the cap and rebore it...

    Rear diff filler plug stuck!

Yea, it's a 3/8's. Try digging any mud or goo out first with a screwdriver, then use the hammer to make sure the rachet/breaker is seated all the way to the bottom of the plug and see if it comes out. If it doesn't you'll have to drill it and easyout it out. If you have to resort to this make...
