Hello all,

New member here.

Got an issue that none of my mechanics have been able to diagnose or figure out.

I've got a 2000 Ford Explorer XLS and whenever I accelerate while driving, there is an intermittent loss of engine power (not electrical) which occurs off-and-on in rapid succession which results in a lurching or jerking feeling.

I speculate that it is an engine misfire, although such symptoms aren't present when idle, only when driving. Furthermore, no evidence of a misfire shows when hooked up to a computer.

My mechanic has already ruled out spark plugs/wires, coil pack, and fuel injectors, so I'm not sure what it could be.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

I'm having the same problem with my '95. It jerks when the torque converter locks up. It's like the engine shuts off then kicks back on. It usually only does it with the a/c running. I have no clue what it is.
