I just a bought a car trailer with Dexter electric brakes. I also bought the Dexter Predator DX2 brake controller. My question is, besides the power and ground wires, where do the brake and stop light wires connect to? My owners manual says nothing.

One more try.

The brake (should be Blue) wire goes back to your trailer connector. Use some decent guage wire for this one, 12 Ga or larger. The Stop light wire connects to the cold side of your brake switch (the one activated by the brake pedal). There are two wires coming out of this switch, make sure you connect the stop wire to the one that only has power when the brake pedel is depressed. Use a test light or voltmeter to determine which one this is.

My brake switch has five wires coming out of it. Green with red stripe, green, brown, red with green stripe, and black. They are numbered one through five on the switch itself.

The Green wire should be the wire sending power to your brake lights when the pedal is depressed. (Info from the Ford Service Pubs). That should be where you tap into for the stop wire.
