I've been reading on here trying to figure out why my 4x4 isn't working. When I turn my key on my hi and low light up in the dash but when I turn the knob no lights or noise.I just bought it today and would like to get it working. Ford said 300 for the module so I wanna know for sure. Can I take a test light to the motor on the trans case and have someone turn the switch? I like the old days where u pulled a stick and heard a loud pop! I've seen a dozen questions about the same thing but they say on lights when u turn on the key. If u can tell me which wires to use a volt meter on to c if it puts out power I'll ck that. Or in my case can it be the switch itself. Also can I get one pit of a ranger,I know where a wrecked on is. Please help, I'm clueless

1st question, which t-case do you have? If you don't know you can tell by the switch on the dash. Does it say "Auto-4hi-4lo"?

You have the BW 13-54 t-case. That is actually the easier of the 2 to troubleshoot. I would start with the shift motor on the t-case 1st. You can pull it off to test, just make sure that it is grounded to the truck when you do. Pull it off and have someone turn the switch while you watch the motor to see if it's switching ranges.

I just got out from under it and have 4 hi working. Worked from 6 until 10:30. Hi works fine, but nothing happens when I change it to low. At least if it snows I can get around.alot of the time was changing t case fluid and putting straight Lucas in the rear end.I need a 4.10 rear in the very near future. If anyone has a low Milag one(less than 100,000)dropme a line 870-243-1987.I'm divorced and have a arm I cut off ten years ago. U probably never met a man that had his arm re attached. And yes,it works.please help guys I'm a damn good mechanic, just used to 2wd
