power door locks
2001 Sport Trac, Job 2 4x4, 4.0. , date of mfr 9/00 (per the tag on driver's door)
First post, so be gentle!! If it needs to be moved, please do so, and my apologies!
While trying to fix one problem (fuel pump intermittent on prime - and it's looking more and more like the fuel pump as I go on) I seem to have created another problem...

...power door locks are not functioning. Interior switches are not working at all, other than to hear what sounds like a relay clicking somewhere under the dash, passenger side, when depressed. The locks will unlock via keypad and keyfob, but not lock. Actuators seem to be functioning since I can unlock. Driver's door switch seems to test OK. Am thinking relays.....but the location of these relays seems to be something of a state secret!! The Haynes doesn't acknowledge them at all. Wiring schematics available thru Auto Zone would indicate that there are 3...where are they??
I did locate Auxiliary Box 2, thanks to info provided by
ncranchero, which identifies a driver unlock relay...problem is, that relay isn't physically there. Where that relay should be there is a space...but no contacts to accept a relay!!
So where are the power lock relays? IN an F-150 post on a FordForum site, they are located in that vehicle under a service panel in the dash. The Sport Trac doesn’t have that panel…but does have a defroster grill panel….might they be under there? The clicking sound mentioned above does seem to be from that area.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
